When you air seal attic don't you have 2 vent the living space somehow from gasses and stale air and such?
@HowtoHacks2 жыл бұрын
There a no requirement to do this. If your home has spray foam insulation then an air exchanger can help a lot.

@@HowtoHacks why is this
@HowtoHacks2 жыл бұрын
@@Brandon-no3vc houses naturally breath a little allowing air to filter in and out. However, if spray foam is used in the walls it seals everything very air tight. This is good for energy efficient bit the house can get stuffy. There are ventilation units that kick on when the HVAC runs to keep fresh air in the house. Most houses don’t need this and breath plenty, in fact most need more air sealing done. All this to say sealing the attic access is good and you shouldn’t worry about it makes no the house too tight.

Just a point to facts. Cellulose is way more heat resistant than fiberglass. It isnt even a close call.

I believe code requires fire resistant foam (which is typically orange, not yellow) for any sealant in a wall cavity such as the wiring chase. Appreciate the video but for anyone attempting this product make sure you get the right kind of foam for the job.
