There are a bunch of ways one can paint a feather... depending on level of detail and time you have to spare... you can use real feathers as stencils... blast in quick stencils you've cut your self, then freehand to blend out the stencil... you can even use a paint brush, scratching or erasing to get fine details! 😁 hope this helps you out!! First off: mad love for tips and work on airbrushing and Happy New Yesr! I have a question and am getting confused and a craplosd of sales pitches without a simple answer and admire your opinion on this matter. I use the createx, auto air, and a couple other brand paints. I have contacted createx and other art stores about the additives ( i.e. created 4011,4012.. 4030...5604,5620) these are referred to on their bottles no reasoning etc. I am wondering do you use or recommend specifically the 4030 intermix/balancer/hardener/spray enhancer? According to createx, the 4030 is required in different % on all their lines of paint in order for their paints to A) adhere B) lay down C) appearance, and D) durability. I would like to know if you use this in your paints? Is it truly required? If so why is this never mentioned by any airbrush artists using createx products? P.S.: this 4030 additive is about $30 US per 8 ounces and recommended upwards of 50/50 mix and lowest 30/70 on all lines. Thank You Kindly, Don N.

I do not use the additives.. never felt the need for it. I'm of the "old school" way of thinking... if it ain't broken, dont fix it. But that is just my 2 cents. Take it for what it's worth. Hey Ryan ,i am very new to airbrushing (apart from seeing all the great paint jobs in uk on cars in the 70's) have spent 16hrs watching your tutorials ,gotta say your lessons and tips are great thank you so much.However i do have a question as i am painting my guitar in automtive 2 pack paint. once i have primed and basecoat the colour should i then flat the basecoat and then concentrate on the airbrush pic or clearcoat then flat the laquer then airbrush and re clearcoat .Many thanks for your input in advance.regards Martin
