If you are unable to see the Bloom output socket in the Rendered Layer node, go to View Layers tab in the Properties editor. Scroll down to Passes > Effects and enable Bloom.

I tend to use Cycles more than Eevee, so yes I'd like to see the Cycles version of this. Thanks for your tutorials!

It's the same as the setup in Eevee, except you use a glare node to create the bloom in cycles

I've been looking for more control over bloom in Eevee for my UFO witness animations. This is something I will almost certainly use in the future. Thanks for all of these great tutorials & keep up the great work!

We have tested this. At which point in the tutorial are you referring to? We have multiple setup discussed here. Please let us know which part you are using, you can give a timestamp from the video. Let me then check it again for you.

Do a tutorial with bloom along with glare and blur with a transparent background, having trouble with that I’m new
@5MinutesBlender2 жыл бұрын
Hi, we have made a tutorial on how to create a Bloom effect with Glare and Blur nodes 👉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/moiWopp3ls6Dn80 (and you can turn on transparent background as well with this). Please let us know if you get stuck somewhere, we're always here to help you.
@wigger49422 жыл бұрын
@@5MinutesBlender it does not work even with transparent background on, nobody has figured out a solution for this if you can figure out how to get bloom and glare working on a transparent image and animation that’d be a blessing
@5MinutesBlender2 жыл бұрын
@@wigger4942 Since you said, I re-checked this just now and it is working at my end (turned on Bloom, enabled transparent background, added Blur and Glare node, and then setup the compositor as shown in this tutorial). It gives the desired result, you may need to save the output in an appropriate format & process it with a suitable software. However, using Bloom and Glare together may be overkill. Any one of them is usually sufficient.

@@5MinutesBlender We have 2024, and its still not possible to use glare on transparent background. Also with that tutorial. The glare is missing on the saved rendering.
@5MinutesBlender3 ай бұрын
@@serious3d992 If any part of this tutorial is not working, please let me know as I have tested everything that is shown here. It should work. However, standalone glare (like a fire action) on transparent background is not easy to capture - the limitation is extremely technical how a fire-like glare or radiation work. They can't be used standalone, they are supposed to spread over a background only. But that has nothing to do with this tutorial. If something is not working as per this tutorial, please let me know.

then, how to render eevee animation with bloom effect transparent background? I already try with ur composite setting and after try click CTRL + F12.. the bloom still not show up for final render
@5MinutesBlenderКүн бұрын
Which Blender version are you using? This Bloom feature is now removed from Blender since version 4.2 so now you won't this exact effect. You can use Blender 4.1 or below. We have developed an add-on to create a Bloom effect for the new Blender as well, and it is here 👉 kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2bCe2pnnNiWrpo

The latest Blender version does not have the BloomCol output socket on the Rendered Layers node. There is only Image and Alpha available. Any alternative solution to this Blender design change ?
@5MinutesBlender4 ай бұрын
It is there, you need to enable it as it is now disabled by default. Go to View Layers tab in the Properties editor. Scroll down to Passes > Effects and enable Bloom.

@@5MinutesBlender Thanks I found it. The results of the bloom after render is poor. Not much bloom. Intensifying the emission and color ramp changes did not help. Any suggestions how to intensify bloom after render ? Also, there is a "transparent" tick box below the Passes>Effects>Bloom tick box. Should that be ticked as well ? The Render Properties tab > Film section already has a 'transparent' option.

3:41 no you don't get that, for me it looks great on the render panel, but when I save it, the bloom looks really weak and completely different
@5MinutesBlender2 жыл бұрын
Hi, are you using RGBA while saving the render output with these settings?
@lucutes29362 жыл бұрын
@@5MinutesBlender yeah, turns out it's a problem with Blender that in Eevee you can't render bloom. In videos like these you just fake them, that's why we either get nothing or bad results overall. Thanks for the video though the invert node thingy was something new I learnt.

@@lucutes2936 Hey, why are you getting so sad? Send me your blend file, I will help you get this fixed. We have done it so many times. Don't lose hope. You can very much get transparent bloom in Eevee. I am ready to help you if you are interested. You can get our contact details in the About section of this channel. Thanks!

how do I get the transparency back?

This tutorial is all about transparent bloom only. Please let me know exactly at which step you are getting a different result so that I can suggest. Better still, you can send your blend file to us (5minblender@gmail.com) so that we can look at your setup and identify the errors, if any.
