this was beautiful! the only incorrect thing is that when a cat walks it's feet are walking almost on a line, as if they're balancing on something. but otherwise, they were both very awesome

That’s honestly why I take notes while I’m working and save every video I use. It’s a pain while I’m doing it but months later when I’m trying again it’s easier to get back to where I was

@doktorhyena2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you still do have to make sure you know what your animal specifically does though. For example, you can't use dog animations on a hyena since their foot placement pattern is different and with hyenas, the neck is much longer and there is more up and down movement in the chest and shoulders than hip. Also, the hips never go higher than the shoulders in hyena locomotion. Overall just using actual videos of your animal will do you wonders rather than just going off animals that are only remotely similar.
@SkittyAnimates2 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right, the universal cycle is a starting point. It's much easier to adjust to the animal you're animating after the foundation has already been laid.

Challenge; learn how to animate 3D just to animate your cat (or dog) doing something silly once witnessed IRL but see how long it takes for anyone to figure out that you animated your own pet... Is it just me or does that dog look like Scoob?

I'm annoyed at how you toss around magic numbers with "frames" as if it's an universal constant. Naturally these numbers depend on which FPS you are working with. I can't see why you wouldn't just use fractions of the entire cycle like "1/4 or 1/8 cycle".
