I haven't changed jobs every year but 3 years. So is that a reasonable period or is it also hopping?

Hi Apurva, 3 years is a good time in a company on a role. There are multiple factors that decide should you change jobs and companies. These 3 years are also relative. If you have a total experience of 18 years and you have changed 6 companies with an average 3 years in every company, without significant contribution in any of the companies, it would still be hopping. Especially if you have not grown and got promoted in the same company atleast once and have not worked for atleast 2 years on the promoted role. Although on a personal level you might have exponentially hiked your salaries through hopping, it is not recommended if you want to get on a leadership role in that industry.
