Please be sure to have the latest version of iOS installed on the iPhone Please restart your iPhone. Turn it off and back on. . This will often help to correct simple issues like this. Here is a video about setting up your Pioneer AVH-1300NEX to work with Apple CarPlay: kzbin.info/www/bejne/lYGWkJSGebF-aKc If this setup operation does not work, Press the microprocessor reset button on the in-dash receiver. You'll need a paperclip or some other small point to press the microprocessor reset button. You can find the microprocessor reset button on the Pioneer AVH-1300NEX on the hard key panel near the eject button. Please be sure to have the latest firmware installed on your Pioneer AVH-1300NEX. You can find it here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/AVH-1300NEX#downloads I recommend to try a different USB to Lightning cable for the connection from the phone to the receiver. Just because a cable will charge the phone does not mean it will carry data. When you plug your iPhone into the receiver through USB are you using a USB extension? Or a USB flush mount in the dash? Or other type of USB extension? A USB port/extension can often be the connection issue. If so, please try a different USB extension cable. Or get a long USB to Lightning cable and plug directly into the back of the Pioneer AVH-1300NEX and use no extension at all. My iPhone doesn't do anything when I plug it in, all my settings are set correctly, do you think the USB adapter was put in the wrong one (usb2) instead?? Is there anyway I can do this without taking it apart?....

Plug in your phone and open the drop down source list. Do you see "iPod 1 or iPod 2" ? If you see iPod 2 then your USB is plugged into USB port number 2. If you don't see any iPod listed in the source list, you might have a bad cable. Use only an Apple certified cable.

Pioneer AVH-1300NEX works with the USB Wired version of Apple CarPlay only. Pioneer AVH-1300NEX DOES NOT work with Wireless Apple CarPlay. The Pioneer AVH-1550NEX works with Apple CarPlay with a wired USB connection from your iPhone directly to the in-dash receiver. You'll need to plug in your iPhone to the receiver's USB port, and CarPlay will automatically start. I understand this vehicle is new to you after the receiver was installed. In a typical receiver installation, the USB extension cable is routed from the back of the receiver, to the vehicle's center console, or glove box, or another area that is out of the way and yet easy to access. Look for the USB extension cable in these areas. If you find the USB extension cable, simply use your iPhone charging cable to plug into the receiver. On the in dash receiver, Is CarPlay switched off? Check the video at 3:15. To remove variables, try the cable that came with the phone plugged directly into the in dash receiver.

I luv my 4200 nex but the one thing that pisses me off is that when I connect my apple car play while playing music, it kicks out Apple Music and turns on Pandora by itself. So everyday I drive I have to continue switching it back to Apple Music. It gets frustrating!!

Deckerd Otto I did eventually a while ago but that wasn't the point. If both apps are available in all the NEX models they should work properly without deleting either app. After deleting Pandora and reinstalling it back, it now works without having to switching.

I uploaded a wallpaper on my 4200, everything works fine, but when using AppleCarPlay, it doesn't show the wallpaper, it shows AppleCarPlay screen, is there a way to show the wallpaper instead of the AppleCarPlay menu? When pressing the home button, it shows the wallpaper but it'll disappear after a couple seconds or so.

It's a shame you cannot use it over Bluetooth. I keep forgetting my phone every time I plug it in, so I have to resort to wrap the cable around my leg to remind me. Otherwise it works like a charm. Waze integration is just invaluable when you recently moved.

I'm not sure I understand the trouble. Do you mean no sound from FM radio no sound from USB no sound from apps or no sound from phone calls? First try to restart your phone. Is the volume up on carplay?

USB 2 does not work with Apple CarPlay. When you plug your phone into USB What source are you using. Is it USB1 or USB 2? Press the source drop down list and choose the USB 1 Source to be sure. Only USB 1 works with Apple CarPlay. Be sure CarPlay is switched on.
