For someone with ADHD and tried my hand a quilt making, I got fed up very quickly and put the unfinished quilt in the cupboard. Finding Aplique quilting is fantastic, I get to see results right away, even before sewing the project be it quilt, table runner and anything else you can make with the applique. 😊❤ also I can't trace very well ( drawing straight is difficult for me) so I just make little lines - - - - around . Thank you for your video ❤

Thank you for offering the appliques. This was very informative. I did some appliques in the 90's, but it has been a long time ago. Your gnomes are darlin'.

Don’t we need some tissue or tear away stabilizer on the back before appliquéing stitch?

Question.. I saw you on Facebook recommending rotary blades and in that video you were using the Alto quilt cut2. I am considering purchasing it and would like to know your thoughts. Would you recommend it? I've never seen you use it in any of the KZbin videos I've watched on your channel.
@TulipSquare2 жыл бұрын
You haven’t seen us use them in videos because we usually cut everything ahead of time. We have two of the Quilt Cut systems and we absolutely love them! Can’t imagine cutting without it anymore. Highly recommended. We’ve had them for years. They’re fantastic! If anyone else is wondering, you can get the whole system on Amazon: amzn.to/3BTQNC8

Thank you for this tutorial on raw edge appliqué. I have one question…in the video you said you were using the button hole stitch but it looks like the blanket stitch my grandmother used on her appliqué. My button hole stitch on my machine looks like a traditional zigzag, just done in place and doesn’t advance. Is the old blanket stitch now called the button stitch on newer machines?
@TulipSquare Жыл бұрын
I checked with Paulette, and she misspoke in the video. That is indeed a blanket stitch she's using. Good catch! 😊🌷

And instead of that top of his hat I think I'll make a round one to make it easier to stitch down. I want to make one for my best friend because she loves gnomes. She has bone cancer so I'm trying to make as many things as I can to cheer her up. I may make these into a table runner. 😊
@TulipSquare Жыл бұрын
Some machines call it buttonhole, others call it blanket stitch. The main difference is when it's done by hand. 🌷

I don’t need to use a stabilizer when appliquéing? I am new this.
