Great video brother you showed exactly the struggle with working a big piece of decal. Isn't as easy as people think. I like the techniques you used and how you worked the decal around the sharp lines and Contours very well done sir

Your decal videos are so helpful !! I’m going to be doing some Tamiya F1 cars and they have some tricky carbon shapes. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise !!

Doing vents with carbon fiber is a breeze. Simply apply the CF decal over the vents the same way you would apply them over a solid body panel. Applying gentle heat from a hair dryer you will soon notice the vents starting to appear as the decal conforms to their shape. Once you can clearly see the vents forming, take a "brand new" #11 knife blade and gently pierce each vein running the knife completely through the vein, don't do anything else, the decal will completely form itself over each vein. Its really is that simple and you'll wind up with perfect CF vein's. The real trick here is to use a new #11 blade so the tip of the blade pierces through the decal without applying pressure to the decal that could disrupt conformity as well as tearing the decal. Place the part in a food dehydrator overnight and the next morning you'll have a perfectly formed CF part. Thanks to Tom for his amazing and informative How To on CF decaling video.

What you did to me was not easy at all! Do you do motorcycles? Only because as lots of curves, I would love to ear your thoughts.

Thanks for the video, find it very well done! Just one question I would have why you no longer take the Micro Set? Or is this really advertising for Magic Decal too?
@TheScalemodelingChannel7 жыл бұрын
Speedy xD decal magic replaces micro set and sol. Does the same thing but in 1 product. Either is fine. Just what you preffer

Great video and it really shows you how much work and patience you need to have. But how do you handle hood scoops? I am currently building a Subaru WRX STi. Would you consider doing multiple pieces or work with the single piece and cut the hood scoop portion carefully?
@TheScalemodelingChannel3 жыл бұрын
Try making a template with masking tape. If that has huge creases. Then multiple pieces is the way to go. If it goes on easily in one piece then…
@rmsamonte3 жыл бұрын
@@TheScalemodelingChannel Thanks for the reply! I have tried the single template method but I had some trouble when it came to punching the hole for the hood scoop after the decal was applied. Or do you recommend punching the hole in the template as well if I were to continue using the single piece template?
@TheScalemodelingChannel3 жыл бұрын
You could punch the hole in the template. But be very precise
