Curious what are your thoughts on using a lighter on the inside of a new mask, to burn off the silicone coating. I have seen some people doing this online. Also I swim in the ocean and often it has plastic and junk in it, unfortunately. So I prefer to clean the antifog with freshwater at home instead of salt water right before i go in. But I will try both methods and report back about my results.

You know to be honest I've never done this and have never seen anyone do it in real life but I have seen the videos. I personally would never recommend someone to do it just cause I don't want to be responsible if they burn the rest of their mask. 😀

@@TheDiveWagon well you may be interested to know that my fogging problem is gone! I tried spit, then toothpaste. Then defogger. It kept fogging up. Had the new mask about 1 month. Used it about 2 or 3 times per week. I really feel like the lighter trick did the trick..because I could smell something sort of burning off. I did another toothpaste rub after the lighter. Then I did defogger but I did not go out yesterday. Today i did the defogger again at my house about 20 minutes or so before entering the sea. Swam for 1 hour. Took a short break. Swam for another hour. Did not even need to spit in it. I saw a video where the guy said to try and not get seawater inside the mask because it will rinse off the defogger. I was able to do this as I did not have any seal leak. Although a little bit did get in. Thanks for the video. Stay safe mate

Yeah last time I used anti fog when I played airsoft I got an extreme headache. My dumbass didn't know how it worked lol.

@@25784lazza they do make a paste version that is better for sports goggles or snowmobile style goggles because it’s just buffs on and doesn’t need to be rinsed. I would try something like that👍🏻

I used to be indifferent about spitting but after 8 yrs of cleaning peoples' masks cause there's a green "ecosystem" growing in their mask from all their spit and lack of cleaning, I tend not be a fan of it. 🤢 But hey if it works for you go for it. 😀👌🏼

There is absolutely no need to use stuff like that! Spit in your mask, rinse it and you're ready. Don't bring more chemicals into the water.

You rinse it out of the goggles. Also most anti fogger is non toxic
