I usually apply it Rubbing a small amount in my hands real good,then just go through my whole beard. No water or dampen beard. Seems to work well the last 6 years.

All the online beard people I know of recommend putting butter on at night, but strangely this doesn't work for me. I've experimented a lot with amount, and no matter what, if I use butter at night, my beard ends up dry and mangled in the morning. When I use only oil at night, my beard looks and feels just fine in the morning. I've started using butter instead of balm in the morning, and it's been a game-changer. When I put butter on in the morning, my beard is soft and styled perfectly all day. So for me, night butter doesn't work, but morning butter is amazing.

I think noncomedogenic butters, shea for instance, are safe and potentially beneficial for skin. Educated Beards sells a balm that they recommend for use on skin, with the shea and beeswax being noncomedogenic. They claim it's good for beardruff. I've never tried this product and I've never put butter on my skin. Merely food for thought. Wait, I have NBW's Ivory Majestic beard oil which weirdly features cupuacu (very comedogenic) as a primary ingredient. It's amazing, as long as I don't use it more than twice per week. P.S. I'm so happy that Bearded Mack added another carrier blend (featuring ostrich). Just made a big order and I can't wait to receive it. I love that company. Thanks for the video Dan C.

The only way I can describe it is the teeth are like long skinny triangles .and very wide spaces. I'm sure it's meant for detangling. But I have a feeling that it was pressed when it was manufactured like cheap combs and it probably has edges that can do damage. But right now i use it in shower and than i can use #8.

This is helpful. Obviously our beard textures are different but that being said I think I may have been using too much water before butter, as my beard still looks wet and greasy after my beard butter application. Your beard pretty much looks mostly dry after. Mine still looks like it’s filled with water and is heavy looking. I think I will try substantially less water and see if that changes some things. It could just be how my beard absorbs moisture but either way I’m going to play around with it.

I'll use warm (slightly less than hot) warm because I use stache wax and I like to remove most of the wax before butter. I have it stuck in my head that the warm water opens the cuticles slightly for better butter access. The I use my #8 while wet then towel to slightly damp. Apply butter, foregoing the skin but including the stache. Then I deviate. I'll use my #2 wide teeth first, followed by the narrow teeth. I feel that it really evens the distribution of the butter on my beard. Beard butter was one of the biggest "Game Changers" in my game, it allowed me to use the thinner oils without causing dryness. Great video DanC.

My beard is similar in size to yours, and I'm currently experimenting with the ideal amount of butter to apply at night. I want to avoid my beard feeling heavy from the butter the next day, but regardless of the quantity I use, there always seems to be some residual butter left even after I shower in the morning. Is it normal for the butter to not completely wash out during a shower where I do not use shampoo? I'm currently use Beard Octane and Live Bearded butter. Also I highly recommend a misting spray bottle. It works perfectly for evenly wetting your beard.

Once you feel like the hairs need help being softer. I generally say once you can pinch the hair

I Dan, always me! I hope you're alright! I have another question for you. Should I blow-dry my beard after applying the beard butter or not? Thank you very very very much! Byeeee

I recommend blow drying after beard oil and before beard butter

From the sound of things I have been doing the correct routine! But I have a question. Been getting really into the incredible scents out there and ordering a ton of samples. Don’t even need cologne anymore it seems. Been obsessed with Black Rebel Beard Co and Luxurious Bastard. So with all of these incredible scents samples I’ve been discovering, would it be smart to regularly buy unscented beard butter instead of using same scents for oils and butter? I guess at least until I narrow down my preferred scents?
@DanCBearded2 жыл бұрын
For sure! Unscented beard butter is a great way to save money. You can add a couple drops of your oil of choice in hand with your butter before melting down, and it makes it scented

Glad to know I've mostly been doing it right! Though, I've been putting it literally right before I climb into bed, so I'll have to just back that timing up a bit to give it more time to sit before laying down.

I love the butter on my body. The whipped better the best. The bee wax is the worst in my opinion

Do you suggest beard butter on a shorter beard? Obviously the shorter it is, more likely a lot of the butter, perhaps more than I desire, will get on my skin. Great video, sir!
@DanCBearded2 жыл бұрын
Once you can pinch and pull the hairs, yup! Just apply with an open palm and do not work into the skin

Dude, thanks for the pointers. I just bought my first oil and butter "beard octane with code dan c" lollol Hey please let me know where you got those wall hooks?!?!

@@DanCBearded thanks man, I've been looking for a solution to hanging my hats that looks good lollol I'm curious, I purchased the liquid gold oil and for butter I went with Fabricator. I want to get the LCW when i can afford it, would I go with downshift? It seems like the scent profile is much more subtle than the other two?!?!

Hey Dan, I do not know which Beard Octane to buy--They sell so many different fragrances If i buy one of each that's over $500.00!!!! On the web site i do not see samples offered. What would the Teacher do?

If you use butter before bed would you wash the morning after with beard wash?
@DanCBearded5 ай бұрын
I wash my beard every morning, yes. If you wash at night, not necessary to wash in the morning if the butter doesn’t have wax
@siesta7959 ай бұрын
when you say damp is it that your beard is 75% or 90% dry? Also, to get the beard like that is it towel, comb, and then towel?

I’d say 75% and I towel and then comb
