I'm so happy that I've discovered your channel!!! Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful detailed instructions. I'm getting ready to renovate a big stepback cabinet, so I'm devouring all of your videos. lol! I'm feeling so much more confident after watching your techniques. Also, I thought i'd mention for some of your viewers that don't have access to black wax, that i've also found, in a pinch, to use boot polish...be careful to check the color, because some blacks can be very purple...which could be fun for some things, tho...lol. There are also some great browns...Thanks again!!!

It really turned out lovely. I have to admit...I go through tons of dark wax!! I use it on everything. Can't help myself. I brush it over the whole piece and then rub off the parts that I prefer lighter...I think I feel that I have more overall control of the high and low lights that I want to create going it this way. But it is more costly my way, yet it's my favorite part of the creation process so can't give it up. I really like that picture of you in the mirror of this piece...the tilted hat and crossed legs just looks super classy. Thanks for another fun tutorial! More please!

kim jensen ... thank you so much Kim 🤗💙 Your message you wrote about waxing... absolutely!! It’s a fantastic way to create highlights and lowlights!! I am one of those that specifically ask you to show the application of wax....so thank you🙏🏻 That was just last week so Wow response time amazing🙌🏻 I love the piece....I LOVE muted pinks and I have a large chifforobe in my garage and this tutorial along with part one are perfect for that piece!! I have watched many people paint and have seen perfectly great paint jobs ruined by bad waxing....it happens....so the meshing technique and application of wax have me ready to tackle that big job! It’s solid walnut in great shape and I got it free!! This came from someone who lives in a a very nice part of town that said Free on Facebook Marketplace and I jumped on it! I really want to do a good job on the gift I was given....so thank you for sharing😊 I live in an old farmhouse and it will stay right here....going to do a furniture transfer of a horse on the door side (no mirror...not missing...never there) so that will be fun to try too!

Kimberly Drake that’s super awsome ! I live a good deal on a great piece of furniture!! I am so delighted to hear you want to give the colour meshing a go! I promise you’ll love it 😍... I have another tutorial coming out next Thursday on another dresser project and even better contrast of colour tones to refresh the Colour Meshing technique again 😉 I want people to feel super confident and be successful with their blending and this technique is golden! I am so happy you had value to both tutorials... it was a longer than I normally like to make the video but I wanted to really focus the technique and effects so I did not want to eliminate to much just for a shorter video 😉🎨 Thank you so much for watching 🤗
@kimberlydrake84635 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply! I appreciated the depth of video as I said bc new technique....needs a little more instruction. You packed a lot of information in that video....please don’t apologize for length of video....it was perfect for intro to new technique and a very large piece.....transformation was amazing🙌🏻🌟 Splitting into two videos not a bad idea since many people may feel comfortable with waxing....I for one feel a lot people skip that part and it’s important for those who do not have a lot or no experience with it. So “Thank You” for sharing😊 You gave me confidence to give it a go❣️

Cindy Webster ... thank you so much Cindy for your kind comment 🙏💗 I was not a big fan of pink either until I tried Scandinavian pink 😉 It’s actually a very muted pink and mixed with lowlights it looks very old and natural ... less feminine and loud. Even my husband likes it lol and he is not a big pink fan by any means 😂 I hope you like the technique and get value from the colour meshing technique for ideas! My next tutorial will be a colour meshing in completely different colours and smaller project 💙💙

I love your videos, thanks for sharing. I am just learning and everytime I use clear wax it leaves stains in my paint, like more intensity of the colors used in some parts. I cant achieve that clean finish. What I am doing wrong?

It’s very interesting how you applied the metallics wax BEFORE you did the dark wax step. I’ve only seen people do the metallic highlights at the very end.
@TheReclaimedHeirloom5 жыл бұрын
Staci Hartman ... it can be applied after as well ... depending how you bright or dull you want the metallic gilding wax ... when I wipe back the dark wax the silver will still show but I did do both ways ... apply before and after 😉💕 Thank you so much for watching 🤗
