You can purchase the LPW from licenseplatewrap dot com and it is only legal in California at this time.

if you sell the vehicle, how do you take the wrap off? Is it the same process as taking off a sticker?

I haven't tried, but I would imagine it is somewhere between PPF and a bumper sticker. Mine is stuck to matte wrap, so I would probably destroy the wrap if I tried to remove it, but the paint would be unharmed.

In CA license plates stay with the car, not the owner so there’s no need to remove it when you sell

@@LilBanchik According to the product's website: Q21: What do I do with the LPW when my lease ends or I sell my vehicle? A: You will need to remove the LPW and surrender it back to us by mailing it to P.O. BOX 4105 Huntington Beach, CA. 92605. You are also required to provide us with the date removed and ending mileage. Q26: Can I order another LPW if I was in a car accident or installed it incorrectly: A: Yes, you can. It is required by the DMV of Sacramento that the old LPW be returned to us when the vehicle is involved in an accident or installed incorrectly. You will have to mail it to License Plate Wrap P.O. Box 4105 Huntington Beach, CA. 92605. We will inform the DMV of Sacramento that you have re-ordered a replacement. Re-order will be processed once we receive the old LPW. Q23: Is it hard to remove the LPW? A: No, it is not hard to remove the LPW. Before you remove the LPW, use a heat gun or a hairdryer to give it some heat. The heat will soften up the adhesive and you can start peeling it off. Use WD-40 to remove any adhesive left on the bumper (video available on our website. Just scroll to the end of this page).
