It is a good thing to want to get married. But I would suggest you do not be obsessed about it. It may happen and it may never happen. I am also impressed by your honesty when you said you are afraid to approach men. Atleast, you now know what it takes a man to get to a woman. So, the next time a man tries to get close to you, you should be at least kind even if he disgusts you.

JazakAllah Khair for this video Nafisa! Alhamdulillah, I was actually the one who approached my husband because of the outstanding character I heard from his friends, family and our community. This was especially confirmed when I watched how he treated strangers/ people who had nothing to offer him. He was also interested in me but too nervous to approach me because he thought since I had a “higher education,” I would immediately reject him, Subhanallah. Ironically, a Christian friend of mine who is very familiar with our faith was actually our “middle woman!” Allah Akbar, I reflected on the story of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Khadijah (RA) in the beginning of our marriage and still continue to do so ❤️.

My one advise is run to Allah. Ask Allah for a good husband who will treat you good and fear Allah. Pray tahajud and never leave dua as it’s only dua which can change your fate. Do a lot of istighfar a lot of it.

I had a brother at work approach me for marriage and knew nothing about him I told him no and he keep being persistent about until I told another brother to speak to him and leave me alone, then one day a few other coworkers were riding in the shuttle car to downtown to get our buses and one of those party buses came next to us and this brother was looking at the women and making comments with another man in the vehicle about them. Alhamdulillah Allah kept me from that disaster.

While I understand the premise of this talk, I will want to point out that even if Khadijat (RA) had had the marriage proposal directly with The prophet (S.A.W.), it wouldn't diminish or reduce her hayya, as you pointed out, it all depends on the approach. I would also add that women of the present era can also do the same with hayya. My reasoning is that this present world is complex, and people can be distrustful. A true friend, or a member you know can make the proposal for you, but when you are left with no one, I think the woman/lady can do the approaching, and if the man said no, Alhamdulillah, at least you know, and didn't leave it to chances, or whatnot. I mean, you have to analyze your situation, and if you are surrounded by genuine people who can do the talking for you, of course, but if you don't have the luxury of genuine people around you, I beg that you go ahead. And one last thing, while watching your video, I read on an Islamic page, that a woman can make a proposal to a righteous man (though not necessarily advice, but pointing out that situations can be different that allows, or it is in the best interest of the woman to make her proposal). And didn't Mariam (a lady from Egypt have one child, Ibrahim, for the prophet (PBUH). I learned this from Dr. Haifa Younis' Ramadan series. Jazakallah Khaira for the video 😊💖

I have not seen or met my Mr. Right yet… I was about to give up on marriage or marrying anyone in particular but it seems like I just haven’t met him yet. Thanks for reminding me that we have the right to refuse an proposal. I was shamed by the guy because I refused his proposal. I didn’t know who he was or how he looked like. He started spreading rumors about me and one of the community members called and yelled at me.. basically lecturing me for refusing him. Hi sister! Thank you once again for thr amazing video. Would it be possible for an advice video regarding women who have no wali (no father, brother, uncle, male relative etc) or female relatives? Imagine, a man is interested in such a woman but how should he and her go about courtship given there is no one to seek permission from? I know an imam/sheik should take the wali's place but you know, the process is quite confusin and it's a topic not really spoken about. I am in the same position. From some of the previous videos there is a list I was able to put together to tow the line. But I have not put this in practise yet. I am worried that I may come across as stone faced or like I would be the decision maker etc. I think the point of marital education agreed to be undertaken before and during marriage from both people would be reassuring and help in situations but to not be a chaser without a wali seems like describing two opposite things.

In today's time , family interfere alot , if a man is good in qualities and girl and boy both like each other as well then some relatives come and speak false about that man by saying that he has no good home , he has this habit , his past was like this etc etc and parents really listen to them without thinking about how much good qualities he has , he can make your daughter happy by loving and caring her but those qualities are neglected ... There are alot of people who prefer money over qualities but again to all my friends who are worried about obstacles , always remember IF it's meant for you, it will come to YOU 💖 no matter how much obstacles will come , it will HAPPEN... Although your guidance and advise is beautiful. Nafisa people and times now are very different. Being noble and respectful is viewed as boring, it's the women who have no Haya and are demanding without any shyness get the men. Men now are no longer interested women with Haya, why do you think we are desperately single, as we will not chase men, or meet them scantily clad. Very strange Dunia.

That is not true for all. Good men with serious intentions are also looking for noble women to marry which is also becoming rare because some women are also wasting their time with men whom they shouldn’t even be talking to. Yes searching for the right spouse can be challenging in our time but the men alone aren’t to blame.

Even though it seems like the women without haya are getting the men, we should still not imitate them. To be honest I have somewhat given up on finding a man myself, and nowadays I mostly focus on other things. Maybe there is a blessing in being single (less drama etc.). Also not to diss the men around me, but most of them don't even seem marriage worthy. So maybe Allah s.w.t is protecting us from these types of men. And in the end try to remember that keeping our dignity will benefit us in the akhirah in sha Allah.

Alhamdulilah, @AK you are so right. Just like the sister stated above, it could be so disheartening at times to see women who don’t incorporate any Hayaa or nobility in their character but yet always appear to “get the guy”. Unfortunately there are men who have become totally fine with the idea of not “buying the cow when they could get the milk for free”, Subhanallah 🥺. I myself have sometimes fallen into the trap of thinking “maybe if I try to make myself a little more attractive”, “maybe if I’m a little more straightforward with my interest” etc. hoping that that would bring me results. Especially given the context of where I live I have seen sisters who are given way more consideration due to their skin complexion, despite their level of Islamic knowledge not being very high or their character at the time not being the best. With me, I’m cast to the side, not given a second thought, or told flat out “I don’t want to marry a Black woman”. So there are a lot of things that we must navigate and we must not get lost in the sauce so to speak ☺️. If anything, like our beautiful sister @SisterNafisa said, it is in our best interest to have a husband who is not caught up with the superficial dunya things and haram way of thinking. Our tawakkul in Allah (SWT) must be strong and we must not fall into despair, InshaAllah ❤️

Colorism is really a whole topic on its own. I'm convinced some men don't approach some of us who are darker skinned, because they're worry about what other people would say. Just sad really, but we just have keep on going and wait for someone better in sha Allah. May Allah make it easy for us...
