NOTE: Just a reminder this video was filmed over a month ago. It was meant to be a follow up to my video explaining at-home bodyweight workouts in detail: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y361f52Kp5urqKc My purpose in making this video was to show you guys what I’m personally doing with my training. I’m definitely not saying you all need to do the same! I made this decision the same day my local gym closed, so I was able to grab some gear before everything closed or sold out. If you take the two videos together, you’ll hear me repeating constantly that you don’t need much (if any) equipment to maintain your gains. I thought the message was clear: We’re all gonna be ok if we do our best. Hope you guys are hunkering down ok and if you are coming looking for detailed at-home workouts, I would start with this video first: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y361f52Kp5urqKc Cheers!

I don't usually comment on youtube, but I guess my situation is kinda special, cause I'm Spanish and right now we're going through some THICC infection curves. I've been training for almost 6-7 years (though at times I've had to take some time off the weights due to uni/injury) and now I have to make do with only a couple of dumbbells which only go up to 10kg, two bands, and a pull up bar. It all came so quickly that I (and most of my lifting friends) had no time to get any more basic gym equipment, let alone buy the expensive stuff. What I'm here to say is that most of you are gonna have to get creative with your home workouts. At the rate at which this is going, it looks like you'll have to do without a gym for AT LEAST a month (if you have a sturdy healthcare system and barely competent politicians), so you'll probably lose some gains. Another thing is that this is not about your gains. That should literally be the least of your concerns. You should focus on staying home to make this go away as soon as possible and to make life easier for the people that are going to have to do way more than staying home. I know I'm going to lose some mass, but I also know that there are heroes out there working inhumane shifts to take care of the rest of us. Stay safe, stay inside. Edit: Lmao I really did say a month, keeping it for memories sake

I believe that dumbbells and bodyweight workouts can be more than adequate if you know what you're doing. As Jeff Cvaliere always says " Muscles don't recognize weight, they recognize tension " . I've been mixing my exercises with controlled/slow reps if the weight is slightily above medium + High reps/Metabolic stress if the wight is light, and I'm actually getting sore again and over the past two weeks noticed some muscle gains.

I never comment on these things. But Dude! You’re running around having contact with a bunch of people. Including the person who’s recording you. The person who’s house you’re planning on visiting for this gym. Their family. And then all the people from the grocery store where you shop for your food. You have a voice. You have a platform. Be responsible. Demonstrate to people how to stay home. Not how to go to their besties and get all excited about this new gym their going to build together. This is not responsible. Your a great athlete and I’ve respected your work. But this dude. Nah. Be better!

Unfortunately they also closedthe gyms in the Netherlands, I worked out 4-5 times per week, now 5-6 at home to focus on maintainingit all, I am keeping the 3 split workout (chest-tris, bac-bis, shoulder-legs) I do this with one adjustable dumbbell, push up holders (to go deeper and more intense), elastic bands and we have a small fitness park for pulls-up and such. Guess you need to be creative this coming period haha.

if i had the space and money to upgrade my home training like you can do, everything would be fine. but i`m living in a 34 m^2 apartment in the city center. spending hundreds of euros on heavy dumbbells just to use them for a few weeks is no option for me either. i'm looking forward to see more "practical" approaches for advanced heavylifters and bodybuilders. anyway, thanks for the nice clip.
@meghanspeed24804 жыл бұрын
If there was some magical way that people could do highly advanced training with no equipment and no weights, don’t you think people would already be doing that? If it’s not feasible for you to train at an advanced level right now then so be it, there’s way worse things in the world and doing some no-equipment workouts at home will probably help you maintain your health pretty well. But don’t complain because someone is not able to offer a magical solution to train at the same intensity of the gym with zero equipment.

Unless you have a legit home gym set up, you're not going to keep your gains with in-home workouts for a few months. But, you're muscle memory will help you bounce back when you get back into real training at real gyms
@ricardoo.s23484 жыл бұрын
Stop with the bs, you don't suddenly pack on muscle mass from training in a gym, Pull ups, Dips, Pushups, ab work, pistol squats, bridges etc, goes a long way with maintaining and even make gains with intelligent programming and hard effort, try new shit, 40+ Pushups in a row with good form and multiple sets, 20+ pull ups, get creative put canned food put it in a bag do weighted dips and pull ups with those, etc. there's a lot of options.

one idea I had, is to buy a (strongman) sandbag. - it is cheap - it is easy to ship - it doesn't take any space if empty - the handling at home is much better - it is quite compared to barbells and plates One con is that it's of course not the same movement as squats or deadlifts. But you still can keep more strength than with lightweight training.

@ItsStillRealToMe DamnIt So when I said "It's not going to be over in just a week", what part made you think I meant 2 weeks? Clearly I was saying it was going to take far longer, but you saw it necisary to repeat what I said, and add the word "months". A word which you could get from "longer than a week", if you wanted to rephrase, but still say exactly the same
@Xerxez224 жыл бұрын
milan-hoi It’s not “exactly the same”
@MHGFTW4 жыл бұрын
@@Xerxez22 Man, just accept that when I say "It won't be over in a week", that saying "months" doesn't add anything. The thing I said literaly implies it'll take far longer than a week, as in months. Saying the actual word "months" adds nothing. It's like me saying "taking a shower will take a lot longer than one minute" and the responding with "It'll take at least 5". Yeah man, that's what I said. I didn't spell it out for you, but it seems maybe I should have.
@Xerxez224 жыл бұрын
milan-hoi I don’t have to accept your wrong statement. There are four weeks in a month. And while you’re at it, why don’t you just accept that two people have corrected your mistake. Keep in mind that you are typing this and posting it. Whatever you thought you meant with it, in your own mind, might not reflect the same exact meaning for those who read it. More detail might be needed.

My wife got a little mad at the purchase and retaliated....a Peloton bike showed up yesterday...
