I remember back when I started doing beats how much time I used to spend trying to figure out how I should arrange my beats or how I would end up not finishing beats because I didn't know how to arrange them and grow it to something more than an 8 bar loop. Thank god I got past that, haha. You're so much more effecient and time saving when you know how you're gonna arrange it.

So many gems in here. Amir is so right about keeping it simple. You gotta understand the average joe does not want to listen to some crazy music with 20 change ups. They coming from or going to work or whatever so they dont want a crazy complex beat. They want something catchy and simple that gets them humming or stuck in their heads and gets them in a better mood. Thats why I think beat battles are hella overrated. "Bodak Yellow" would never be considered a fire beat in a beat battle with that simple 3 notes playing over and over again but it was a giant smash commercially. Great video Amir! 🔥

Exactly! You get it. Simplicity is king when it comes to making beats that work in the real world if you want to have a career in music as a producer these days.

Just stumbled upon your channel earlier this week. I just wanna say thanks! I was trying to decide between Komplete Kontrol and Arturia V Collection 8, and you helped me decide I should just get both. I've been wondering how to make the most out of VSTs and also curious about how to approach sub-bass and deep bass lines using things like bass guitar emulation. I use Ableton, but everything you cover from what I've seen is transferrable. I appreciate your insight a ton. It takes me all day to make a beat cause I'm kind of a perfectionist and I get caught up trying to do little things then don't even finish sometimes, but you're helping me create a more efficient workflow + be more playful and I'm feeling a bit more confident thanks to you. Much love
