@mikeg2491 Depends on what your goal is, whether or not you want to just do dinner and dancing, without expecting anything it's not always about results of course and having a woman as a good friend is actually a very cool thing to have. They can teach you a lot of things about women and maybe even hook you up with one of their friends. Of course it's not always about whether or not they can do something for you, those are just examples. My point was that it's not as complicated as we men think.

I think Louis is really good at visualizing the thought process the typical human goes through in most daily situations. He's really good at seeing both sides of the picture which is how he's able to write stuff like this. It is surprisingly difficult to create an authentic piece of dialogue or interaction, one that doesn't seem rushed, and because of Louis' style he's allowed to lower the pace or speed it up when he needs to, not like other mainstream shows where it's 100 mph all the time straight to the punchline. Life and people are meandering and everything doesn't always make sense. It's a relief to finally have some shows that reflect that.
@CT999997 жыл бұрын
Ah, yea, I think you're exactly right. I remember a joke of his where he talks about sitting in 1st class of a plane and he sees an Army personnel board the plane -- a young guy -- and how in his head he thinks about the idea of offering up his seat, but of course never does. I think stuff like this really shows his knowledge of the inside dialogue we often have with ourselves.

The reason that it's funny is because a human knows both sides of the conversation. They know what it's like to be in the weird time of love and most if not all men know how it feels to be Louie trying to get someone out of their league. But like all comedy it is exaggerated like how the joke being on Louie is. For something to be funny the joke has to be "at" someone, in this case it's how we laugh at Louie for being so incredibly unconfident towards himself. That is where the jokes come from.

It's like it's saying, here are two people on roughly the same level, and then Louie completes his proposition and suddenly they're both feeling kinds of "bigger", and "better" about themselves.
