I can’t get the screws to even remotely go in for the magnet part. Should I use a drill?

I am not sure I would risk it. You might try to "widen" the holes with a nail or something. I would be afraid that the vibration (or slip) with the drill could shatter the case. That's just my thoughts.

Nightmare to put those magnet screws in the side of the door panel! They made the wholes way too small on the one I got..massed produced so some might not have this issue.

Planning to get this glass cabinet , seen alot of reviews and comments that the screw magnet dont fit the screw hole, do we really have to drill a bigger hole or it just takes time and patience to fit it in?

As a teen I worked in a uk ikea prequel. MFI. We used three to four kits to build each display model. It wasn’t quality! However as an adult I can build ikea and similar without issue. The secret? Get all the bits out and handle each piece. Look har$ and visualize how they will fit. Next read the instructions. Expect them to be useless. Then build it without screwing or nailing. Handle each piece. Then start slowly screwing or nailing it.

You have to pick and choose what you are going to get from Ikea and gauge life-expectancy accordingly. I dread to think how much stuff in my house is from Ikea, but it is super close by, relatively inexpensive and some items are exceptional quality. Others? Well, once you build them, don't ever try to move them.

Would it be able to replace the feet with other feet from Ikea?

I'm having the worst time trying to have the shelves sitting flush and not wiggling. I've leveled perfectly on every single angle and it still happens. Any idea what may be causing this? I bought 3 so it's really frustrating.

Other than leveling, I really do not know. As long as all the panels are squared it should work. Maybe slip a tiny, slim piece of felt onto the pad of each bracket. That is what I would do to remove any vibration.

Thank you so much for this video, i used it yesterday to build my first Blaliden and you were right, I *did* drop a lot of screws putting those shelf brackets in. Do you have any tips for screwing in the magnets on the door frame? I tried several times but I couldn't get them to go in.

Try "widening" the holes a little with a sharp implement like a very small screwdriver or pick of some type. I have an old icepick I use for this type of thing, just be careful.

Try calling Ikea, they will likely get them to you for free.

Is there a way not to place the door and remove the pre-installed brackets for the door?

The easiest way to get a completely "open front" (like it sounds like you want) would be to take the glass out of the door itself and just not install the door knob. Other than that, you would have to grind off the door hinges and then repaint the area. Hope this gives you some ideas.

There are no holes in the back glass panel. You could replace it with a mirror of the same size or you could get some of that "limo tint" film and mirror it like that. Just an idea.

My door is stuck open when I put the door on the hinge. What could I do?

I know it sounds silly, but check to make sure the door is not on backward. Next I would check that the cabinet is on a level (or close to level) floor. Then I would check to make sure the entire cabinet is in square (level font to back, side to side, diagonal across the top and plumb top to bottom). Hope this helps.

First had an issue with the top frame, one of the threads had a metal chunk covering it... only to find out after waiting a week for my replacement part and coming back to this video that the door is just missing the screw holes for the magnets.. they just don't exist. Will be buying a strip instead which should also help seal it from outside air a little better. Thanks for this video though, the instructions for this were a nightmare, even on IKEA standards.

Carefully widened or enlarge the hole with an awl or other very pointy tool. Do this slowly and very carefully.

step 1 building this glass case: throw the directions in the trash and step 2: Watch this video instead. I wish you would have mentioned that the magnet installation was extremely difficult, because the pre-existing drilled holes are too small for the screws provided in the materials. my boyfriend ran to Lowe’s to find smaller screws, but in the meantime, he used Loctite to glue the suckers on. I would also say this was a two person job, when it came to installing the door onto the hinges, because they wouldn’t lineup and we had to force the middle hinge post into the hole. And yes, we checked everything that was level before doing so.
