Just bought a RM 655 VS version here in the middle of US. First mow out I went for a straight 5 hours doing spring clean up/bagging. Man I love this mower! I’ve had the old JD, multiple flagship Toro walk behind’s and then to a 54” Hustler zero turn. I needed a great walk behind for spring clean up, occasional baggings and to use at the lake/cabin property. The Stihl fit the bill perfectly 👍 Keep making Gas powered equipment!! Electric 👎

What is the primary difference(s) between the VS and the YS? They appear to be identical.

Hello and thank you for your interest in STIHL products. the difference is the VS is a Vario Drive and the YS is a Hydrostatic gearbox. The Vario drive is mechanical, whereas the Hydrostatic is hydraulic driven.
