BRILLIANT. Took my Passap apart for cleaning and forgot how to put it back together!

It's not uncommon to forget the assembly process after disassembling a complex machine like the Passap. I'm happy that this video could guide you through the reassembly process and make it easier for you. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, feel free to ask.

And another video suggestions - reason and use for waste yarn. I don't get it.

Oh, I knew next to nothing about the machine at the time the video was made. Thank you!

Thanks for the suggestion. I will try to make a video about the waste yarn. When knitting some projects (let's say a doily), you have to start knitting with waste yarn, because the stitches will be live, on both sides (after removing it) and you would be able to sew both sides invisibly. If you start knitting with the main yarn and make a cast-on, then you will have an edge after you sew both sides together. Another thing is, that you can attach weights to the waste yarn, and they won't distort the main yarn for your project. As long as I know, it's called waste yarn because after using it, it will go to waste. I have read that people use their least favorite yarn as waste yarn. I am reusing the yarn that I am knitting the test swatches with or the yarn from the unsuccessful projects. If you are using a ravel cord, you can easily remove and rewind the waste yarn from both sides of your project. Then you can make I-cords or use the yarn for small knitted projects (Christmas tree toys, etc..). If you don't want to use waste yarn, you can use a cast-on rag. Just hook it on the needles, knit one row with a ravel cord, and it's the same as if using waste yarn. Hope this information helps you understand. Also, you can ask me, if you find something unclear, or if you want to know anything else about the waste yarn.

Your videos are just amazing! I am putting together my Passap that has been boxed for at least 30 years. It feels almost like starting from scratch, even though when I last packed it away I was quite proficient. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise, I look forward to watching more of your helpful videos once I get it assembled, cleaned, and oiled.

I’m really enjoying watching your videos. They are so clear and informative! I have a Passap Pinkie that I took apart and cleaned, and refurbished. Wouldn’t you know it I can’t figure out how the row tripper slides back in? (little black triangular part on the front bed). I know it’s simple 🤷♀️

Thank you very much for the positive feedback! You can see how to insert the row tripper in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIe6hIVrotegh5Y Timecode: 16:09 Hope you will be able to see the correct orientation from that clip. Tell me if you need to make a short video on this topic.

I notice you put six yarn holders in. Do you have a way to make it a six color changer? Or do you manually change them?
@ArtOfClay2 жыл бұрын
I think there is no way to make a six-color changer. The third mast I use only with ravel cord and waste yarn. I keep the eyelet and the mast threaded, and I wrap the end of the ravel cord around the eyelet and clip it onto the mast. When I need to use a ravel cord, I insert the eyelet in the lock, knit one row, and remove the eyelet afterward. That way my color changer is always available for 4 color yarns.

How long is this machine can someone tell me? & does it all come in a case? TY in advance
@ArtOfClay2 жыл бұрын
The width of the machine (without the extension plates) is 117 cm/46 in. The total width of the machine with both extension plates installed is 160 cm/~63 in. The height (without the tension mast) is 90 cm/~36 in. The height (with the tension mast) is around 170 cm/~67 in, but maybe even more. These are old machines and it would be hard to find one in a case. I bought mine wrapped in a blanket, and the parts were in boxes. It depends on the seller.

Videolar çok güzel Türkçe dublaj istiyorum .

Merhaba, Her videoya İngilizce altyazı ekledim. Türkçe bilmiyorum ve çeviremiyorum ama sağ alt köşedeki dişli çarka tıklayıp (video izlerken) oradan otomatik çeviriyi açabilirsiniz. Umarım bu yardımcı olur! ___ Hello, I have added subtitles in English for every video. I don't speak Turkish, and I can't translate them, but you can click on the cogwheel in the lower right corner (while watching a video) and turn on the automatic translation from there. I hope that helps!
