I love my vertex but it just started to make a whistling sound like blowing on a blade of grass when I am pulling backward with the vacuum

We're sorry not all vacuums stand up on their own, Carmel. We'd like to look into this further. Please send us a private message with your model number, when and where purchased, 4 digit date code off the metal prongs on the end of the cord that goes into the wall outlet, serial number, your phone number, and email address.

Hey Shark, VERY DISSATISFIED CUSTOMER HERE. Ordered the Shark Vertex online from Bed, Bath & Beyond 10/31/20. Have thus far been very pleased with it. Today, however, 4/10/21 the roller ceased turned and the red indicator light came on, indicating blockage. There was no blockage. Called Customer Service. After troubleshooting, they indicating the power nozzle needs replaced. But OH WAIT, the power nozzle included under warranty! What?? Am I missing something?! If there is no power nozzle, is there a vacuum?? How is THAT not COVERED?! Yes, I see the "back page" of your manual says, "Normal wear and tear of wearable parts (such as foam filters, HEPA filters, pads, .) which require regular maintenance and/or replacement to ensure the proper functioning of your unit, are not covered by this warranty." So does the "ETC." portion of that line absolve you? I would like to know exactly what IS covers?? So after spending nearly $300 FIVE months ago, I need to pay for replacement part (or even shipping of a new part after some negotiation)? I think NOT. I guess I will go back to my 20-year Miele. Guess I will also be heading out to check out their new lightweight vacs and will be bypassing Shark altogether in the future. Was good while it lasted.

So I need to attach the part that you use to for other attachments in order to hang up the top part of the vacuum ??? Why does it seem like the bin is not large enough to me???? Could be me but it would have been nice to have a much bigger bin so you don't have to empty as often. Also, why not battery operated instead of corded ? I saw on another youtube video that there is a cordless version to this vacuum but I bought this off of qvc as it was a good deal and they didn't offer cordless. Probably me but it would be nice not to deal with a cord.

Hello Jim. Yes, you can store the handheld portion of vacuum on the hook located on the bottom front of the wand. We also want to thank you for your feedback regarding the size of the dust cup and power cored. We have forwarded this off to the appropriate team for future consideration.

We do apologize for any inconvenience on this, Jim. We are happy to assist you with this. On the left side of the handheld portion, when holding it, there is a slot that slides over the hook on the bottom front of the wand. This is shown at the 1:12 mark of this video.

Horrible model. I just bottle vertex ultralight duo fun whatever 2002 and it got clogged. No problem except I cannot remove the rollers to fix it! Unlike other models this has no clips that you can unscrew with a penny. I took every screw out (which a couple were stripped when whoever at your factory put it together) and IT STILL WON'T COME APART!!! DO NOT BUY

Thank you for reaching out to us with your question, Josie! We are sorry our Shark Vertex UltraLight with DuoClean vacuum does not have a compatible wall mount. To store this vacuum remove the hand held with the cord and attach it to the front neck of the motorized floor nozzle.
