How to Assign Drum Pads in MainStage

When I add a new channel, it’s automatically assigning the sound to my piano. How do I assign it specifically to my drum pads 4:29 ?

hello; great video! I use a MPK mini. Assigning a pad to play the sample plays a piano note along Any idea why ?

Make sure in your layout screen the keyboard is assigned to “Channel 1” and the drum pads are assigned to “Channel 10”. If they are set to “Channel 1-16” they will trigger all instruments associated with the MPK.

Is there a way to have the keyboard play the same notes played by the drum pads but play just the instrument sound and bypass the sample? Because if not, why not just use the keyboard to trigger samples exclusively, since key inputs are needed regardless of it being routed to a drum pad or not?
