Seems like some of this method is more massage therapy and chiropractic. Just a warning to some viewers some states will shut you down over this type of contact.
@Holistretch3 ай бұрын
Yes, you have a very good point. I incorporate a lot of massage work into my stretch therapy as I am experienced in various modalities. To me, holistic health incorporates all of these techniques. It is ideal to be a licensed massage therapist if you plan to have a stretch therapy business according to law in most places, and even then, there are various rules and regulations per State; that being said, if you have the ability to help people with your healing touch, you should do that. The world needs it! If it's something you feel inclined towards, I would definitely recommend becoming an LMT.

so...I honestly come back to this video over and over again because it gives me some sort of weird tightness relief to just watch, and it usually motivates me to stretch. That being said, the two minutes between 3:00 and 5:00 minutes is easily the most erotic assisted stretching I have ever seen. However, the music choice mildly tortures me.

while there are good stretches in this routine, the fact that you seem to want the "vibe" of this video to be somewhat "sexy" and overly intimate is disappointing. We bodyworkers have enough challenges taking the stigma of sexuality out of our profession, so it's a bummer to me when I see what could otherwise be good information and technique be tarnished with this sort of lack of regard to that challenge.
@Holistretch Жыл бұрын
Hi, very interesting feedback. This certainly isn’t my intent whatsoever. I’m sorry you feel that way. The practice of assisted stretching can at times be quite intimate, and I celebrate this aspect of it.
@tawnigrubaugh9343 Жыл бұрын
Thank you for your reply. I, too, celebrate the "intimacy" of bodywork. Although, I make sure that the sense of intimacy between myself and my clients is an ethical, professional and non-sexual sense of intimacy. That is incredibly important for maintaining important boundaries in bodywork, as well as giving our profession the legitimacy and credibility it deserves. I've been doing massage and bodywork for 26 years and teaching massage therapy at our local college for 17 years. I also teach CEU and modality classes (including facilitated stretching classes) and utterly love what I do. I relay the importance of ethical behaviour in our practice to my students, while also relaying the beauty of connecting with our clients. What I refer to in the vibe of your video is not the entire aspect of the bodywork your demonstrate (I very much like a lot of it, in fact) but in particular where you are lying on top of him with essentially your entire body on top of his and reaching up to his back and shoulders to pull his shoulders down. I know that this technique or intent can be accomplished in other ways so as to not give those who are watching this more "fuel for the fire" of sexualizing and and invalidating what myself, you and so many others do for a living to bring balance, harmony, health and connection to our clients. If you look at other comments, I am not the only one who has described your video this way. Others are calling it erotic or "not ideal" due to how you present it. If it is NOT your intent to appear sexy or elicit an erotic feeling from viewers, and if you want our profession to maintain dignity and professionalism, perhaps revisit how you decide to present these techniques and information. @@Holistretch

Thank you for taking my thoughts into consideration. It is 'your boat to row' regarding what you post on your video sharing site, and the type of audience you want to attract and appeal to; and I'm sure you get a lot of viewership and "likes" since people look for stretching techniques all the time (but I also imagine there are those, perhaps primarily men, who like your videos for other, non-stretching or professional bodywork reasons). As stated, there are others in the comments who have commented about the sexual way you present yourself (clearly intentionally) in this video (this video is the only one I've seen but I feel it's enough to get the gist) so I guess I would respectfully request that you please reconsider the way you present the connection and intimacy of bodywork and facilitated stretching, and amend it to relaying a more professional demeanor and intent, thereby helping take the wretched misconception and stigma of massage and prostitution out of the minds of the public so that this profession I love so dearly and intend to do for years to come will be taken more seriously by the general population, as well as the medical community. @@Holistretch

Men do this too. I have video content of my friend Dustin working on me. It's just a great way to utilize your entire body whilst stretching. Resistance stretching takes a LOT of strength. It's definitely intimate, and professionally done, it's very effective :)

Looks like massage to me. Only allowed by licensed massage therapist. This would not be considered "assisted stretching." and definitely not fascial stretching which consists of holding positions for more than 3 minutes. BUT, he looks like he is enjoying it.
@Holistretch Жыл бұрын
Massage is with oils and creams and sheets. I am a massage therapist as well, but this is not a massage session. This is called assisted stretching. This type of session stretches the fascia.
@Tifftalk25 ай бұрын
Although the stretches are good, I will NOT subscribe. The physical body to body boundary is NOT professional. Min 4 reveals a silly pose; PLEASE have professionalism for the industry; The music and voice are not at all good for licensed massage therapists to follow. You are sending the wrong message. It's very unfortunate
