Rubber webbing comes in all sorts of antique furniture, especially modern mid century pieces so here's an easy method to replace your old webbing with a lot of tools you already have at home.

Hi. My chair has a groove at the front for the rubbers to clip into, but at the back the rubbers are stapled onto the wood itself. What sort of tool would I need for stapling through rubber and into solid wood? I'm panicking here.

@@onlinefabricstore Thanks for your advice, much appreciated - I'd imagined I would need something heavier. Now all I need is to figure out how long the rubbers are that I'll need to order, if I'm stapling one end down. I guess it may involve trial and error, especially when I don't even know which end to attach to the frame first, the clip-in end or the staple-down end..... (one disaster coming right up).😕

Thanks. But sadly, the stapled-down end of the straps is at the back of the chair base and there's no room to use a monkey wrench because the frame of the chair back gets in the way. So I'll definitely be needing some of your GL. 😉
