goes to show that too much information results in it not being absorbed properly. jiu jitsu is a activity where you need specific focus for long periods of time to make any real progress, for example what John does with his whitebelts as he talked about before, he will have them focus on pin escapes all the way till they get their blue belt compared to every other school where the moment you join as a white belt they just flood you with information, after 1 or 2 years the student learned basically nothing and can only make progress in rolling because of muscle memory, and has no conscious idea of what theyre actually doing

I’m a white belt and my instructor only has me fighting guys who outweigh me. Which I’ve noticed is much harder to pass than a guy who’s smaller or looking for escapes because we can actually get to that point. So if you could make a video on some fundamentals for fights and passing against heavy opponents that would be something I’d watch for sure.
@mayormccheese3969 Жыл бұрын
As a smaller guy myself, when I’m going with bigger guys I have a lot of success in passing the half guard. Like John said in this video half guard gives you the ability to control the head and you can use inside position like underhooks. I feel control like that helps to neutralizes a lot (not all) of weight and strength difference. From there you can focus on using technique and finesse to pass into a better position.
