@Gnofg the Presidential philosophy. Biden and Trump would both kill both sides of the hypothetical Civil War. Biden would squash the leftist revolutionaries just as much as he would the right wing rebels. Same goes for Trump. The politicians hyping up conflict amongst their bases are not extremists. They are centrist liberal capitalists all of them. They mobilize extremists in their bases for opportunistic reasons. Their idealistic foot soldiers would be betrayed as soon as they started on their behalf. These politicians are happy to see poor people killed each other to enrich themselves. Hence our foreign policy.

It was striking to me that as Glenn pressed on how we can depolarize our politics, John ultimately appealed to Dr. King's teaching on love. Dr. King, of course, was simply appealing to the message of Christ. Many believe that by rejecting Christianity we have been liberated, but we have actually cut ourselves loose from the moral foundation that was essential for civil government. As John Adams said, "Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." The cornerstone of that moral foundation is love: desiring the highest good for the other person, and acting on it.

@wokeisweak5 ай бұрын
@@Gnofg conservatives are winning on race by revealing the idiocy of open borders and police scapegoating. Both of those issues are framed by liberals as racial issues. If you oppose open borders or support cops liberals call you a white supremacist. In america "racist" is the worst thing to call someone, so this hyperbolic language is very reckless. The conservative response to these accusations has avoided racialized language and has panned out to be closer to the truth than liberal squeals about racism. The crime wave resulting from a retreat from law and order has proven conservative claims correct. Liberals have been exposed as charlatans on the race issue, making up excuses for cultural degeneracy. I think the original poster admits that scapegoating others for your own weaknesses and that progressives should embrace more of a bootstrap outlook. As a progressive myself, I think personal responsibility would only make our side stronger and more effective in our fight against capitalism. Conservative cultural values are undoubtedly superior to liberal self-sabotage and conflict-inducing blame game.

One side wants to "be unburdened by what has been" that's commie talk. They are talking about revolution, a complete change of our system to a "global" system. Individual nations will not exist, they may still on paper, and you might keep the trappings of "democracy" but you will have no power to make decisions about how you live. The other side believes in the Nation state, still. Citizen deciding for themselves how to live, and give people and environment to prosper even though some will still fall between the cracks. I'm not sure everyone actually understands what is at stake right now. If you look to Europe, they're going through a similar change that we are. Some secret, agreed upon deal where the west would take in the millions of immigrants from 3rd world countries and give them thousands of tax payer dollars. They're allowed to attack the host nations citizens and two tiered policing is being employed, anarcho-tyranny. Its a political decision our governments made. That's the choice right now.
