Perhaps the Left emphasize race because globalization prevents them from emphasizing what they should be focusing on: wealth inequality. Any government trying to tax the rich or corporations to redistribute to the poor or to protect the environment makes its economy uncompetitive in the global market. So what else can the Left do but satisfy themselves with identity politics, race, trans issues, etc, etc. The Left today is impotent.

What's wrong with wealth inequality? Why would you expect people of vastly different visions, motivations, personal characteristics, and capabilities to achieve at the same rate, reach the level, and reap similar rewards? And then why would you think it's a good idea to forcefully take the rewards accrued by the productive (FOR their productivity) only to give to the unproductive to sustain and whet their appetites for even and ever more to be taken from others for their own selfish benefit? Why don't you celebrate rather than bemoan the powerlessness of those who would seek to grow and perpetuate such gross and unproductive villainy in the world?

I think John is wrong about the bigot thing and the “his kids marrying your kids” thing. I honestly think he could care less. He probably has a bend toward wealthy though. I don’t think he wants his children/grands to marry broke people.

I do not agree with the casting of Luigi mangione as a folk hero. However, as a nurse who routinely sees people get absolutely necessary medical care denied by United healthcare, I also do not agree with the characterization of a CEO who kills tens of thousands of people with a stroke of his pen as simply "a father". Why should an industry which exists solely as a middle man to bilk sick Americans of their hard earned money, and defraud the government for as much as they can take off medicare, get a pass because they kill people with red tape instead of a gun? Vigilante justice is certainly not the answer, but when our elected officials do little other than enable the greed of what is verifiably the worst insurance carrier in America, why should we feel any sympathy for the man whose policy decisions kill thousands? I want to be very clear about this: I have personally witnessed the denial of potentially life saving cancer treatment denied by United for which the patient legally did have coverage, but by the time legal representation and clinical documentation were brought in sufficient quantity to reverse that denial it was too late for the patient to meaningfully reverse their deadly disease process. That was a murder, plain and simple, just one done with legalese and time (deny and delay). If the chief executive for the organization responsible for the illegal denial, which wrongly and against the terms of the policy prevented that potentially life saving treatment from taking place in a timely manner, is not the one with whom responsibility for that life ending policy of denials and delaying, then who is? And since, in my view, they are, why should I have to pretend that their paper murder makes them any less reprehensible than the assassin who used a gun to end them?
@RichardLinza
@RichardLinza Сағат бұрын
It was anarchy before Luigi got involved. That particular CEO was responsible for his company denying claims at 3x the rate of other companies. He was already in trouble with the government, but it was q slap on the wrist. Because he was already above the law in that regard, it was already anarchy. It just caught up to him.

It should be noted that most of the corporate leaders of America are psychopathic and kleptocratic. They work extremely hard to build and take advantage of a kleptocratic system. Diverse evidence shows that the high inequality of kleptocracies is extremely damaging to human health and results in higher death rates at all ages, especially amongst the lower classes. Children die at much higher rates and one stat that I can remember off the top of my head is that children under 5 die at 3X the rate in the United States as in Finland.
@richardbicker640
@richardbicker640 53 минут бұрын
Have you asked yourself what rate the children of Finns living in the USA die compared to their countrymen in Finland? How about the rates of infant and child mortality between American blacks and blacks living in other Western countries and even in African countries (where, presumably, racism isn't a thing)? Have you thought about these things or just swallowed a stat taken completely out of context (and by whom and for what purpose)?

I said it on the last cut of these same statements. You all go ahead and stop saying it. There is a new generation that have been educated that there is a career in these topics. So they will continue the white hate in your absence. If African Americans wont do, we can move to Indian American etc. We will hate on me as a country till the money leave the industry and the votes leave the party. Then it will not be understanding and education that your upholding but rather power that you are capitulating to.

Companies don't bring H1B visa workers over because they can't get qualified workers in the U. S., they bring them to work at half the price, and work twice the hours. It's a form of skilled tech worker union busting. It's used to drive down wages. They can completely abuse visa workers because they are basically held hostage by the company sponsoring the visa. Then use those workers against native workers. Agree with it or not.

I continue to be amazed on how ignorant John is on so many topics. He doesn't seem to understand H1-B1 is about driving down wages just like illegal immigration and NAFTA. There's plenty of qualified Americans to do these jobs and they're often expected to train their immigrant replacements. Besides we're a nation and not an economic zone. Hiring citizens should be the top priority.

Together you bring light to the issues of race without producing heat at the same time. It is hard to overcome 400,000 years of being able to recognize people who are "others" as a survival skill. That beings said, over my 81 years more has changed than he past hundreds. When I was in high school interracial marriage was illegal in six states. Today, it so common no one cares or notices. We as people are getting better. Keep up the good work as we are not done.

Woke politics is in decline, but it's still very strong. I think some people on the left or who are democrats are rethinking woke in part because of the election of Trump. Vast numbers of people are still afraid of being called racist or misogynist... or emphasize black struggle & grievance over the hardships & victimization of low & middle classes and the diverse harms of high inequality... or buy into woke history... I would like to note that the woke. Ideas of racial essentialism and chauvinistic tribalism are right-wing ideas.

If it’s not apartheid what is it? Separate legal systems, separate roads, separate water supplies, land can be taken from Palestinians but land can never be taken from Jewish Israelis. So when there are separate systems and Jewish Israelis always have the most rights it kind of seems like South Africa before apartheid ended.
