Have you ever been attacked with a knife, how did you get out of the situation?

24 yrs ago I had a guy break into my apartment and I came home while he was there, he attacked me with one of my kitchen knives, not in get too graphic, I faired very against him at that time I had 10yrs of FMA training. I don't think the any Martial art style is flawed, the only flaw is people approach to it.

then you better have preparedness. You have in a lot of cultures that are fond of knifes certain clothes that at least buy time. Ever heard of haramaki or sarashi clothes? You can see that same sash on old paintings of the knife fighting times in spain and italy. Although they used additionally their jackets to make it harder for the attacker to aim.

People underestimate a lot of times the need for beeing able to take a punch, cause a lot of times confrontations try to start by surprise people cannot avoid getting hit. But they can be prepared in one way or the other.
