If you are on a tight budget try to make your way to china. Specifically hainan island. Rent and food is way cheaper then anywhere else in southeast asia. I stayed in a furnished high end apartmemt in Ledong for 90.00 canadian. Learning the language is also easy except learning to read which will take about 12 to 15 yrs. Google and youtube is not available without paid vpn. In shainghai which is more expensive you can get a job easy as a foreign actor or extra in movie productions. Sometimes you will be aporoached by companies to act as a front for their company giving them a more international impression. Good luck.

I have been pretty critical of Scotty in my past comments, but honestly, if I were single and had no family the slow travel, low budget life wouldn't be terrible. I think we read to much into it when he refers to himself as the "broke expat," as he is more just living on a low budget. I guess if you're happy to see new places, and content with just having a roof over your head and food in your belly, go for it.

Scotty, it seems like you are not really thinking ahead, for the next 10 or 20 years. Normally one would want to work a job that pays into Social Security, and a pension, and 401k, to save up for retirement. Is it really your plan, for the next 10 years, to be constantly low on money, travel around Southeast Asia, and complain about travel services? I am just curious about your vision for what the next 10 or 20 years looks like.

What you are forgetting is that Scotty likely has a street meat addiction. If you look at where he has been, he visits areas known for sex tourism. That’s why he continues to go into debt while living in an apartment that costs a couple hundred bucks a month. He hasn’t saved any money and will likely die working a low wage job while living in poor conditions. Never forget, he’s a gambler and they only show you the cards they want you to see.

I was going to ask that too, not as a dig at him but there is a very pronounced stutter when he speaks. I thought maybe he had a very slight speech impediment. One of my brothers sounded similar when we were kids but he went to a speech pathologist.

One possible option is to meet and marry a nice middle age lady from Southeast Asia. A lady who owns her own business, that you could help with. If you marry a local, then you could probably get a permanent visa. I'm not sure of all the laws in Southeast Asia, perhaps you could find out and let us know.

Not knocking on Scotty here, as I believe he's genuine and admits some money is through KZbin, but in general I've seen countless channels or "influencers" talking about how they left it all behind with no job or savings and they're making it in Southeast Asia. Then I click over to their view and subscriber count and it all makes sense in regards to how they're pressing on abroad. More power to them for living their best life but for the love of all that is holy on Earth just be honest 🤷🏻 Reminds me of the early Man vs Wild episodes with Bear Grylls. If he admitted from the beginning he would receive help from his film crew, it would have changed public perception for the better.
