But all of the vloggers just go to the Philippines for sex with teenagers, then back to their country. You rarely if ever see a foreigner with an older filipina, always the teenagers,,,pervs and pedos

I am not trying to make this a negative comment but the area you are in seems to have a high cost of living. I spent 2 months in the Aklan province capitol city and we had a really nice furnished apartment for 6.5k per month with free internet, water was only 100 pesos per month for washing/cleaning etc. There are areas in the Philippines where it is much cheaper to live and not be in the Jungle, we were right on the outskirts of the capitol city 1 mile from the center of town.

Sorry, bud. You are the 12th expat who has gone broke within the last few weeks. Many of my friends have stayed back to work even after they qualified for social security, exactly for this reason: they didn’t want to be stranded in a foreign land without funds. I realize you are trying hard to work and earn enough money to cover your costs of living. I wish you good luck.

When I was living there we took on a Sky Fiber wifi contract (200 mbps for 2999 pesos per month) and it started off good but ended up being the pits. After 6 months decent service and only losing the service for a few hours each week, but after this we were receiving no wifi for days at a time... 17 days maximum downtime. In the end we paid the 4k peso penalty to end the useless contracted tried using my old 4G Router from the UK with a Dito Sim. That worked okay for a few months then that service went down, then tried Globe and same crap again. Jurassic Park Wi-Fi Company just describes it very well

Don't get yet the exit thing you mentioned. Is it smth like a visa-run to renew your 180d stay?
@Ted-f4o0776 сағат бұрын
It is a "permission to exit" check basically, they run checks to see if any criminal or civil cases have been filed against you, or departure hold orders filed by your wife or dolly bird. Also check if you have any outstanding monies owing to utilities or other companies there. Some Expats jokingly nickname it Escape Clearance Certificate

I am always rooting for you, but this last thing you said didn't make much sense... (you likely will not get your DD back again, it's just the way it works here so you basically just spent $500 USD for 1 month of accommodations? Dude, in your particular case, if you are leaving to avoid exit clearance headache, why not use that $500 USD and just find an ultra-cheap AIRbNb? That way it would have been furnished and cost you a lot less. The trick to the AirBnB is to book for a few days, then talk to the owner and make a deal OFF AirBnB to avoid the commision they get.

I really don't understand why foreigners come to the Philippines simply to live a shi*t life. My wife and I bought our first property when we were living in HK and then our second a year after relocating..My wife and have since bought more. We own USD 1M in domestic property and another USD 500,000 in commercial property. Given where we live, the properties are increasing in value. We have a decent income, our kids are at school/university. This is not my being flash/showy, simply presenting facts. Vis-a-vis visas, as it were, it's quite simple. I renewed my visa today - no visit to Immigration, simply attaching my signature to a few forms. There was a minor hiccough since the local Immigration Bureau has moved its offices (as per the Philippines, no notice/indication, etc., but I called a guy I know in Immigration and he sorted us out). That's me sorted for the next 6 months.

Your definition of "life" doesn't mean its the definition for everyone, all depends on what you value. For some (like myself) who love minimalism. In his case, this is about as extreme as you can get without suffering. The threshold is low but still doable with the minimal prerequisites: bed, air con, internet. The first year I was in the PH, I didn't even have aircon and loved it. As an example of what I mean of people having different definitions for "life", I leave you with this comment: My condolences to you on being married with kids, some people are just more unlucky than others.

People are interested in money. If you have money, they like you, if you don't give your money to them, they don't really like you as much. It's the same everywhere you go. It's like being in a casino, if you are winning, everyone comes to be your friend, when you are broke, they hang out to take your last dollar, and if you are at a truck stop, maybe you can get head or a handy for a few bucks from some passerby. It's the same here, have a few bucks and you will get attention.

Playing those on the internet casinos are scams. Even worse than house casinos. They have algos that find patterns in your betting then purposely do something to screw you. Such a liberating feeling Scotty 🤙🏻 back in Thailand (2006) I used to love hanging off the back of those trucks they call "Songtaew" just like you were here. Since I'm 40 now and trying to pinch every penny and also have a back injury I don't think I'd take the risk anymore. I'd still ride tuk tuks and all but no more monkeying around for me haha. A big set back for me is I might eventually need surgery to fix my back here. While I'm insured, I'm trying to see if that's even an option. Forking out that money in Bangkok for example at a private hospital could be at least 10k or more which isn't feasible. But as you know, healthcare here in the states is very painstakingly slow and getting approvals is hard as hell. Money talks man.
