Another layer of QA! - more red tape and cost. If you have a licence to install electrical equipment shouldn’t you then have the power and responsibility to sign off the install. Why do you need another check? What is the purpose of the licence in the first place. If you have the knowledge why not do a DYI and then get an inspector to sign off the install- they then take the liability of the design and install. I worry about all the layers of approvals by supposedly licences experts and the cost shifted to the customer.

Yeh I see where you are coming from. Most of my friends who own business in Victoria didn’t like the idea of inspections at first. But now they see it has raised the bar - or lifted the playing field. Less dodgy solar. Doesn’t mean a good company won’t do a better job, just means the trash companies either need to up their standards …. or move to QLD.
