Learned this one the hard way: be wary of stickers on a motorcycle. I had a sticker on my motorcycle when I bought it and I left it on for a while, but then I decided to take it off. That’s when I discovered a huge scratch on the frame, like if someone keyed it or some crap. Not a big deal, I don’t really mind it since its cosmetic but just be warned about stickers covering up scratches.

Asking lots of questions and looking closely at the bike will show up issues as will looking at service records. I just saved a wasted trip by asking for a walk around video and some close pictures of any blemishes, from that I could tell it had been dropped at a reasonable speed and passed, it was a £12k bike listed for £8.7k, looked fantastic in the advert.

So basically ask: Are you a liar? Did you crash the bike? What’s your social security number? And lastly, what did you have for breakfast?

Tell them to remove the fairings before you come so you can see all the bike. Not just the “book cover”.

And you don’t even have to know a lot about bikes! A dealer is gonna be less likely to pull a fast one on someone who asks a lot of questions and seems like they are switched on, The bros who just tell them to “show me the fastest 600” are gonna get rinsed by a dodgy dealer. Stay wise

Is it possible to take it to bike mechanic, an ask him to look through it like you can with a car?
@E3litecompany2 жыл бұрын
Maybe you can slide a mechanic a few 100’s to be with you when you look at the bike, that’s what I’ve done when I’ve bought used cars

Just don't buy a sports bike. Buy something where the rider won't be a twat.

Yep, but there will always be kids wanting sports bikes who can't afford new and they have to go somewhere.
