Alfred Hitchcock’s thriller tensions got nothing on Spencer Colgan’s priceless lessons! So true, water threshold and drying time nobody talks about. Thanks for sharing. 👊💪👍

Great video. Thanks a lot for sharing your priceless experience. You are a dedicated teacher that didn't miss out on any small tips. I really appreciate it.

In my first attempt I rolled it out too thin and it dried before I got to smoothing. I had never heard about misting it before I stumbled upon your video. Thanks a lot for this thorough tutorial!

I wish the lighting was better as you were showing critical technique. That part about priming before coating is a gem. Great content, subbed.

Interesting. Timing is the key. Check out the refina superflex 2 finishing trowel. And ox speedskim. Will flatten the wall in 3 passes

So if I have a relatively good but lightly textured (from wear and tear) and painted wall, you would need to prime it with paint first (to avoid bubbles) and afterwards 1 skimcoat could achieve these results ?

Prime it with primer, then do 3 layers for your skimcoat

why paper a wall before the skiming as been done, that just makes it harder, also why not use a skimming trowel.

Correct!! To please my son.

A skimming trowel would be great on a larger wall. But I’m in a tight space in this video. Better to use a smaller tool.

Sounds like he might be Christopher Walken's brother.

I use topping compound and skim it really tight, should only be filling in minor perfections or scratches....it dries pretty fast, can mist the wall if you want moisture or lil bit more time can take a damp sponge to feather in any minor overlaps.... complete opposite of this method
