I find that, as I move through my journey of learning Blender, you are right there, answering all the questions that come up, and you thoroughly remove the mysteries, explain the quirks, and flag any tricky aspects. I feel like you are one of the best Blender teachers on KZbin. Thank you for all the unselfish contribution to the community!

It's "The King Tracker" that automatically gets installed as a Blender add-on when you subscribe to Ryan's channel so he knows what you need, and when you need it. 😂 Seriously though, I feel the same way. Mr. King always seems to release the content I need exactly when I need it. Either that or there's a tutorial he's created in the past that covers what I neeed. Ryan is the best! I love this channel! 😃

Thanks Ryan for these series. One question, If I want to bake an emission texture to later export it as a glb file, how can I produce the emission light if I bake with a strength value of "1" as you recommend?

Awesome video Ryan! I've recently been doing work where I've needed to bake texture maps from procedural textures and your baking videos have been absolutely fantastic .....and now here's another one covering emission maps. I love it! Thanks so much for all that you do! I wanted to ask: I've been exporting to GLTF files. Everything worked great, when baking, thanks to your extremely helpful tutorials. When I reimport the GLTF files it sets the roughness and normal maps texture image nodes ColorSpace to: non-color and the texture looks like the UV is off. If I change the ColorSpace of these to sRGB the texture looks great. My understanding is that selecting sRGB for the ColorSpace brings the texture in as is, which is non color. Is this correct? I just want to make sure I'm doing everything correctly. Awesome video my friend! 😃
@RyanKingArt2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'm not exactly sure about the GLTF files. I've never used them before.

Nice one... You should do a tutorial on how to render bloom in eevee with transparent bkg, because it doesn't. It's really a big hole in blender that you can't do that.

it kinda confusing, because in the other tutorial you used emit for the metallic textures. so how is blender gonna differentiate between the two ?.

hi! ive been watching some of your videos latley! but i have one question? how do i bake the image texture when the image texture node is set to single image cuz when i do that i have to select it to generated and it turns out to not look right and plus i have a texture that i made on paint 3D and that i am trying to use but i used mapping and texture coordinate nodes to rotate and scale the texture that way i want it but i am trying to bake it to be like that! any help would be nice! :)
@Soulsphere001 Жыл бұрын
If I have an object with different emission strengths, would I set the highest strength emission to 1.0 and the rest to their original value divided by the original value of the highest? Example: Let's say I have three emissions with strengths of 2.0, 3.0, and 10.0. Then, right before baking, would I set the emissions to... 2.0 / 10.0 = 0.2 3.0 / 10.0 = 0.3 10.0 / 10.0 = 1.0 So the 2.0 emission becomes 0.2, the 3.0 emission becomes 0.3, and the 10.0 emission becomes 1.0?
@RyanKingArt Жыл бұрын
I'm really not sure.
@Soulsphere001 Жыл бұрын
@@RyanKingArt I think that's probably how it would work, since if you used that emissions texture from my last comment and set the emission value to 10.0, it should scale the others up. Maybe I'll experiment with it and get back to you.
@Soulsphere001 Жыл бұрын
@@RyanKingArt I experimented with it and scaling the lower emission values based on the highest emission value seems to work. EDIT: Maybe you need another emissions tutorial to go into that, LOL.

@RyanKingArt2 жыл бұрын
Are you wanting a sculpting tutorial of a mouse animal character? Or a sculpting tutorial where you use a computer mouse instead of a tablet? Because its actually pretty hard to sculpt with a computer mouse, and I don't recommend it. I don't plan on making any tutorials where I sculpt with a computer mouse. If you don't have a tablet, but want to make an alien character, it might be better to just poly model the alien in edit mode.

is there a way to bake specular maps? for the purpose of Unreal or Unity?
@RyanKingArt2 жыл бұрын
yes you can.
@bertrandzhu9439 Жыл бұрын
You can bake a roughness map and then hit "image" and then "invert" and then that is the specular map
@toapyandfriends2 жыл бұрын
why do you bake emissions??
@RyanKingArt2 жыл бұрын
if you want to use your 3d model on a game engine, or another 3d program, then procedural nodes only work in blender. so you need to bake out texture maps to use it in another 3d program.
