I demonstrate how to make a light and slightly sweet bread with a hint of fruit in the flavor. Delicious toasted.

I came across your recipe yesterday and made the bread -2 loaves- today. I followed your instructions to a "t" using 7 cups of flour and they came out gorgeous. I am over the moon on how delicious and easy this bread recipe is. It is absolutely the best hawaiian bread ever. My husband ate some and loved it. Thank you for sharing your wonderful recipe Maria Torres

I did this from another recipe, it called for 7 cups of flour, it came out perfect. All other ingredients were the same. Excellent bread!

I loved watching your video. I learned to bake bread in my thirties, and was reading a series of books by a man who baked his own bread, he said to let the dough rise 4 times. I did and the crumb came out wonderfully. I was making my own Kaiser rolls and smaller rolls too. I never did get the hang of slicing the bread, my slices were always uneven. That didn't matter to me, as long as it tasted good with butter.

No, I don't have any plans for a conversion table or substitution chart. I do the conversions directly in my recipes and I'm not very good at substitutions. I have seen them on the Internet though. I doubt I could do better. Thanks for the feedback on the video.-Dennis

I agree with the visual adjustment on the dough. Most recipes don't take into account location and weather will effect how it will react. Bravo sir, very well done.

I'm trying to imagine this bread in a sandwich. Some fillings would be okay, such as a BLT because tomatoes are a little sweet anyway. I can't say ham and cheese with mustard would work okay. You might want to experiment. I enjoyed it toasted with my morning coffee. Thanks for a question that made the think.-Dennis

That looks absolutely fantastic. I've heard of this bread but here in Australia you can't buy it. Thank you for sharing. I looked in your site and because I work in grams I love that you offer this on your videos, but you don't seem to have a conversion table or substitute sheet. Will you be adding this to your site by any chance?

Hello Adam. Your wish came true - even better. All the recipes from the videos are free on my web site: www.MobileHomeGourmet.com in HTML (web pages) and PDFs. Look in the "Recipe Archive" (button in the left panel). My cookbook, which contains my first 200 recipes, is available for free on the web site in EPUB format, which can be viewed on most tablets and on computers that have an ebook app, such as the Nook Ebook Reader app (available free from the Barnes & Noble web site www.bn.com). The cookbook is not available in other formats nor in print. I did what I could to make it free for others to enjoy (but you can make a donation on my web site). I hope you enjoy the book and my web site. -Dennis

Can I bake the loaf of bread in a Loaf Pan? Also, can I use Bread Flour instead of All Purpose Flour?

Yes you can. Bread flour will give a little better rise and a loaf pan would work fine.

Remember, not all flour is created equally. There are many factors as to why more flour was needed... the humidity, the age of the flour, and the size of the eggs, it is okay to need more flour, such is the life of a baker.

I made this recipe and though it tasted like Kings Hawaiian bread the crumb was such that it was like it was course and stale Kings Hawaiian Bread. It went exactly like your recipe. Any pointers on a softer crumb? Kind thanks.

I would knead it before adding more flour, so flour has time to absorb egg in recipe.

Where do you put the Dough to let it raise????thank you
@Nekulturny
@Nekulturny 5 жыл бұрын
Anywhere thats draft free will do. Putting it in an oven with the incandescent light on (the oven heat turned OFF) is usually where I put it. The bread will still rise, but the colder it is, the slower the yeast will work, sometimes thats done on purpose, for example when I make pizza dough, I want it to rise slow, so I put it in the refrigerator overnight, depends on the recipe you're doing, but ultimately anywhere is fine that has a stable temperature.
