It only works for shoes with even number of eyelets, for odd ones, you have to make a little crossing of one lace under the bars

Nice clean look but it's just not practical. Makes it very hard or impossible to get your shoe on and, if you actually manage to by loosening the laces, the shoe won't stay snug on your foot as you walk because it isn't tied down securely.
