Tuck it back and PUSH! That's how you build BIG GLUTES boys!! LMAO 🤣 But let's get serious. Aside from building bigger and stronger glutes, the barbell glute bridge is going to help you improve your hip explosiveness which will transition over to helping you improve / increase your SQUAT and DEADLIFT as well. Never overlook an exercise because your form is off or bad. Instead, look to improve your understanding of the mechanics of an exercise and then kick its ass for gains! *Be sure to check out the ARTICLE VERSION on my site too! Lot's of great photos to go with the video!* muscularstrength.com/article/how-to-barbell-glute-bridge-golden-rules

Thanks for showcasing the right-way to do this beneficial exercise. For the longest time I felt like I couldn't accomplish it because of the "inability" to get the barbell underneath my hip-area. That is why I didn't do the exercise. But thanks for expertly demonstrating.

Even though these are a killer for your glutes, a workout alone wouldn't make any noticeable results if isn't combined with a structured diet aligned with your goals. You need quality nutrients in exact portions to make sure your body will regenerate all these damaged muscle tissues and not store unnecessary fat in the process. I'm following Dietarize’s fat loss meal plan for 3 weeks now and my girlfriend has already started complimenting my body 😊Great video Scott, keep up the good work!

Is there a reason why you prefer to do glute bridges over hip thrusters with your upper back supported by a bench?
@maia34203 жыл бұрын
In can hip thrust over 500 lbs but without a pad forget it. Even at 135 it left bad bruising. I’m a shin scraper with deadlifts and that has nothing on hip thrust bruising.
@ScottHermanFitness3 жыл бұрын
You just need to get used to it. I am up to 550lbs with no pad. Its all about the initial pressure of pushing the barbell into your thighs as hard as you can before the rep. I still get a LITTLE sore / bruised. but very minor... usually gone in a day or two.

This is a really stupid question, but what kind of plates do you use for the bar to be high enough for you to get under? I have a bar with some 25 lb plates, and it makes the set up hell because I'm not strong enough to really lift the entire bar over my torso. Are those 45s? Or bumper plates? I'm new to this stuff lol Im sorry

You really need to slow down on the eccentric portion. Don't just drop the weight. You will do most of the damage on the eccentric. Slow down, control the motion and be steady. Might do less reps but correct form is better.
