Started lifting after a bad accident. Your how-to videos allowed me to do proper form. Drop sets are a big part of how I bulked up. I spent 3 years off of the gym for nursing school, and I maintained so well that now that I've been lifting again for 3 months, ppl at the gym think I'm a personal trainer.

Thats so awesome to hear. Isn't it crazy how even if you take A LOT of time off... a couple weeks of incorporating drop sets gets you back on track in no time? A truly underrated technique!

Hi Scott. Old follower from Argentina here. Thanks to your teachings for years (and more than a decade in fact) I've been applying Dropsets at the end of almost every exercise (lets say 1 or 2 dropsets per muscle, depending on the configuration of the training session). You'll always be on my mind for being a great mentor and friend. Nowadays I have the coolest biggest home-gym you could imagine. I'm just and addict (to the natty life, basketball and fitness I mean😂) Thanks for existing. Bye.

Drop sets are good, another safe way is slow eccentric long length training. This way you need to lighten the weight by default and can really optimise each rep with control. You have extra time to find that optimal path to lift each and every rep and feel the target muscle working as much as it possibly can. Not for the faint hearted!

Hey Scott, question. How does doing a drop set per exercise affect the rest of your sets for each exercise? Are the rest just straight sets, and how many sets after the drop set? Thanks!
@ScottHermanFitness19 күн бұрын
Every set is a drop set! So 3 drop sets = 1 set, and 3 sets total. So you technically do 9 sets 😅 high volume but effective! You’ll definitely notice a strength drop off as you go through your sets

If I’m doing three sets, so I wait until I can hit all three for 10 reps before going up? Or do I go up in weight each week on any set I hit 10 for? When do you go up in weights and on what sets?
@andrewpayne509319 күн бұрын
Whenever I try to do a drop set, the next weight I use I can only get like 2-3 reps out. Does that mean I've pushed myself to hard on that first set before dropping it ?

I'm still skeptical about the whole '' muscle damaging to build muscle'' if that's how you grow muscle then how do people on steroids actually get muscles without working out +ye, you look great cuz super/drop sets are a pump festival xd
@ScottHermanFitness19 күн бұрын
Because steroids mutate the cells allowing them to hold more "mass" than what would be capable naturally. This is why even when you stop taking steroids you are still never considered natural because the cell mutation remains forever. Sure the cells might not be able to hold onto as much mass as they did while on gear, but the threshold is still higher. Some might say the risk is worth the reward. But the risks are real and I don't think it's worth it. Hope that helps!
