Just a couple of exercises that can improve your focus on each note which will in turn make you a cleaner conga player...
Trying to become a "clean" conga player is something one should always practice... Consistency is the Key.
If you want to skip to the exercises go to 2:50

Thanks for your videos. I have been to several Santana shows and the late Raul Rekow is my inspiration to play congas. I will never achieve Raul's expert level of playing but playing congas is still fun for me. Blessings to you and your family. Andy, Tampa, Florida.

My thoughts exactly. I had to make a play list dedicated to conga playing and it's exclusively him. This man is a game changer. He actually teaches and you can tell he puts a lot of thought on how best to break down his patterns for his viewers. He does it so flawlessly that we don't even realize we learned the material. Amazing content and teaching style.

Love to add these to my exercise regimen! One of my instructors always recommended doing exercises starting with one hand and then do as many reps starting with the opposite hand and drums in a reverse fashion. It was great advice in helping to build ambidexterity which makes one a better player in my opinion.

Nice one bro 👍🏻like I said, I'd let you know how the doubles are working out.. Wrist control improved immensely but only managing to do about 60min practice most days, some days a bit more.. Sitting around 65 to 70 Bpm. These exercises are another great addition to the daily practice. Much appreciated as always bro 🙏🏼

If you speed up the exercise, it's no longer a tone exercise and now a dexterity exercise. I think the student should pick one or the other
