I saw in your other video where you rescued your new dog, congratulations! I am an animal rescue were in New Orleans Louisiana and I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for rescuing that beautiful dog. Do you know you actually saved two dogs the day u adopted ur pet? Of course you saved your dog then you save the life of the dog that was able to have your dogs old kennel at the shelter because you made space. So many animals get put down because of the lack of space. Again, THANK U THANK U! You are definitely part of the solution and not part of the problem. I also am crazy about your dollar tree videos! I went to my local dollar tree today and bought enough to make three of your DIY crafts, including the canvases to put my 7 dog’s paws on. I also purchased enough to do my 2 cats paws and our rabbit, Bunny Biff’s paws (or r they called feet for the rabbit?)

Can I ask your thoughts wearing gloves when shopping? I've seen several videos and posts from healthcare workers saying that it does more harm then good because of cross contamination.
@PsycheDancer4 жыл бұрын
@Nell J Please forgive me for length of this answer, I don't know how else to say this and get the point across... I've been in healthcare for over 30 years, and have had quite a few people ask about this, so I tell them to think of it like a Medical Assistant going from one room, and patient, to another, without changing gloves - all day... The MA wouldn't be at risk of touching people or things directly, but the cross contamination would be a nightmare for everyone - including the MA. There's a kid with strep in exam room 2. Residual on the MA's gloves then moves with her to exam 5, where someone is having her annual pap. Residual from the pap AND strep are then moved to exam room 3, where a man is just getting his blood pressure Rx renewed. In between, before, and after patients, she handles charts, touches door knobs, labels samples, makes phone call, then its back to exam 2, to clean, before the next patient. After a very short time, sick or not, doesn't really matter anymore - pretty much everything is contaminated throughout the office. The MA brings a pen and clipboard to the front office, and hands it off to a receptionist. A few minutes later, someone from billing pops in to grab a chart, and jots down a number on a post it, just before UPS shows up to pick up pre-employment kits headed for a lab two states over... Everyone is getting this, right?? But, I'm sure I just heard someone think, "Yikes! But, you idiot, we're not dealing with sick people (ew!) or assisting with pap smears (double ew!) We're just making sure our hands don't contact high touch surfaces. That's protecting myself AND the next person that comes along." Honestly, that's a lovely thought! Kudos for trying, and for thinking of others! Unfortunately, just like the MA wearing one set of gloves all day, things are moving in ways they normally wouldn't, from one place, and person, to another. Proper gloving (possibly HUNDREDS of changes a day!) PLUS hand washing, PLUS proper cleaning proceedures (with other pairs of gloves), PLUS appropriate training ALL combine to minimize contamination and cross contamination. These things are what normally protects the MA and patients; as well as the receptionist, billing staff and not only the UPS driver, but the other 20+ people that will come in contact with the package. ***Note that the MA touched the pen that billing wrote the note with, and the receptionist used to sign the chain of custody paperwork, which the driver took and laid on top of the box as he carried it back to the truck, where they all touched other papers and boxes... Did anyone do the math and figure out, how many people have potentially been exposed to the Corona/COVID virus? The answer could be hundreds or many, many more! Just like with so many other things about this virus, we don't know until the damage is done. In this case, a delivery person, with asymptomatic COVID-19, dropped off flowers for the office manager's birthday, 15 minutes before the MA's shift started that morning. Then the MA touched the vase, and moved the flowers, just enough to get to the box and grab a pair of gloves for the day. She contaminated, her gloves while she was putting them on! And the vase is no different than a cart, a car door handle, or something on a shelf in a store. So, please, don't glove to go out! Wash your hands, try not to touch and remember that the pandemic is NOT over! Stay safe and healthy (or I'll come back and write more!) LOL! Wishing everyone who stuck it out and read this big old long thing a great day!!!

I heard that too but some ppl just want to be safer
@kacewill4 жыл бұрын
Perhaps she had a cut on her hand that day.
@PsycheDancer4 жыл бұрын
@@kacewill Maybe, but, in that case it would be better to keep it covered with a carefully applied, waterproof occlusive dressing. Not only would it keep it clean and help it heal faster, handwashing (or hand sanitizing while out and about) can continue as as suggested by the CDC/NIH. The problem with wearing gloves in a store, to cover a wound, would still be cross contamination and transfer - very possibly including into the wound. BUT, I'd also like to say, what a kind, and thoughtful, way of thinking! I really believe that everyone is just trying to do their best in a rotten situation, with, sometimes, sketchy or no information, but sometimes there are reasons for people to do something, differently than they normally would, and with only good intentions, because it makes sense in that moment. Thank you for reminding me to remember that!

I love all these easy, beautiful DIY projects. I do have a concern I wanted to ask about because I struggle with it in my mind. Are most of these products made in China? I ask this because in my experience, they are, yet China has such a horrific history of labor abuses of its people. It's a conundrum I struggle with and was wondering if others experience this?
@kellijohnson70934 жыл бұрын
Hate to burst your bubble, but almost EVERYTHING you buy is made overseas, under those same conditions. Unless you're eating a burger at a mom and pop restaurant! Even then most of the serving ware, napkins, etc are imported, as are lots of condiments. Heck, even the veggies are imported! Hard to find much of ANYTHING actually made in the USA, using ALL USA products. Since the 60's when laws were changed and our businesses and manufacturers exited our shores in mass in search of cheap labor. Saddly, we are a country of consumers, not makers.

I went to dollar tree this weekend because my 6 yr old niece came to stay with us for a while and she loves painting and crafts. So I got some of the bead kits they have and some of the little wooden drawers they sell that have the little cut out butterflies/flowers/hearts. She had a great time painting those and it was an easy way to keep her busy all day. The beads will be a project for another day. I didnt see the little wooden plaques at my dollar store unfortunately though.

I respectfully disagree as the CDC even is now saying the virus is not easily transmitted on surfaces. Realistically we all take more risks driving in our cars. We followed the rules as first because we truly didn't know what was coming but it turns out Coronavirus was perhaps an overhyped flu and I'm so sad to see the damage that quarantine has done to mental health.

I found that it's best to start at the beginning of the store and slowly make your way through so you don't miss an isle! Another thing that works is more chance based for me... you have to find a time to go there when they have freshly stocked shelves. That is the hardest part 😂 another thing is you have to look on each on every shelf so you don't miss any items. You have to keep in mind that sometimes items get misplaced- meaning that sometimes that is the only one or two left of it's kind in the store... lol this has helped me find things I've needed even if sometimes I feel like my Dollar Tree is trash. lol hope this helps somehow and it wasn't too confusing or long 😂
