Man, I am continuously praying for my husband and our marriage. We are currently separated and I am just praying God continues to work in him and on him and that we can come out of this with God.

So good! Can you do a podcast Q/A with your mom? I am a mom of 3 young ones under 6, and I would love to know how she raised you and instilled godly values over you while you grew up. Thanks!

Amen Madi thank you for breaking this down I think I’ve been scared to submit when thinking about my husband one day but it comes from the absence of my dad and fear of not having a Godly man but I’m not settling anymore! I’m reading your book and it’s truly helping me ❤ thank you thank you

This was so wonderful! You are so wise beyond your years to be a newlywed! What a little doll you are! I've been married to my husband 36 years next month and I have the same story as your friend. I found God before my husband did and with lots of earnest prayer from my friends and constant praying myself and just being a godly example to him by being patient and and loving, he is now a beautiful godly man and our marriage is wonderful!

Madi I am not a Christian but I find myself coming back to your podcast for nuggets of wisdom and I love when you said "do I want to be right? or do I want us to be united?" is it more important for my ego to be boosted or for your marriage to be healthy and strong? I am engaged to be married and find that usually the biggest barrier to a healthy relationship is overcoming myself. Overcoming selfish desires. This is so so good.

what’s scary is if someone is in an unhealthy relationship they are being told to not talk about it except to God first - pray harder- respect and obey harder.

Yes, but hopefully they realize that after taking it to God first that they can go to godly friends, a pastor and Christian counselor to talk about it.

Proverbs 24:6 says victory lies in a multitude of counselors. So yes seek God first and trust him to give you or to have already given you wise people in your corner.
@ioanabd32625 ай бұрын
yeah because if you talk about it, advocate for yourself to be treated better, you employ the dreadful 'feminist approach', 'ungodly life', etc. :))) and you're not letting your husband 'lead'

Loved this content. Had me remembering that same excitement on my wedding day. As you said hit your knees and pray- I thought about this.. could you talk about how praying out loud and in a posture really does make a difference? Also not sure if silent prayers are less effective..? But I always hear ppl say when you open your mouth and pray. Which makes it sound like you have to…? Curious if there is any biblical verse to support this but maybe ppl aren’t actually praying out loud and don’t know that..?

Honestly if you’d ask me , it doesn’t really matter cause when you see Hannah she prayed in silence and still received what she wanted , it’s the heart posture that matters the most to god , not if you pray out loud or in your heart , cause in Matthew 6:5-8 When you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men … but when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen so this could probably show us we don’t need to be loud and obnoxious during our pray hours a silent one is as effective , again this is just my way of looking at it .
@amyelitorres5 ай бұрын
@@MichelleRaw I appreciate that! I honestly have only heard about Hannah one time so I will go look for that scripture! Thank you! I thought the same about the Pharisees praying loudly but then literally ever since I had this question in my head, I have only heard ppl say out loud lol. Ty for the guidance 🩷

surely there are some marriages - even Christian- where a wife shouldn’t submit to her husband. Like in the Josh Duggar situation I believe she is being told she didn’t obey her or submit enough and that is why he did those evil crimes against children. Maybe they aren’t Christian tho- they’re IBLP which isn’t Christianity. I just believe there needs to be a lot of caveats for women who may be in abusive relationships knowing they do NOT have to submit to men like that. Comparing Jesus to his followers / husband to wife- hopefully isn’t saying all men are to be seen as Jesus.

I’m glad you brought this up because many men check out other women even if their girlfriend, fiancé or wife is beside them. Some think it’s okay and harmless because it’s just a look. They don’t realize it’s disrespectful and dishonorable, and actually causes hurt and insecurity in their woman. I hope she can touch on this subject if she hasn’t already.

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but do not compare walking down the aisle to a fallible man to walking towards our perfect Lord and Savior. This is an idolatrist statement. No one is even a close second to Jesus dying on the cross for us. Maybe it just came off wrong.
