I'm 28 years old, and next month will mark three years of marriage. The first two years were full of fights and arguments. I would have left if it weren't for my pregnancy, as I don't believe in single parenting when both parents are alive. The last major argument happened when I gave birth. My husband said some terrible things that day, which caused my blood pressure to spike to 180/120. I had a headache, palpitations, and feared I might collapse, possibly due to the lingering effects of anesthesia during delivery. That day, I prayed to God, who told me, "If you want me to fix your husband, you need to just stay calm and submissive when he talks to you, no matter what he says or how he says it. Your behavior is all I need to change him." It's been a year, and it hasn't been easy to remain calm when I have so much to say. However, the good news is that he is changing, even if not completely, the difference is noticeable. I have found a kind of peace I never thought possible in my marriage, and our home has been peaceful since last year. Praise God.

I have been married for 6 years this year september, and what really stands out for me was when you said that having parents that are in a good marriage is an advantage ... my parents was married for 24 years me and my sisters witnessed countless adultry happening in my parents marriage, constant fights arguments and belittling... we didnt have any example of what a good marriage is just little bits of good moments between my parents. Their marriage ended in divorce.. and that spirit of adultry seemed to have been with me in my marriage even tho i have been blessed with a handsome, smart Godly man but still had this evil with me... God delivered me from that spirit and watching your video just shows me that i need to submit to my husband i havent fully done so... thank you for saying its a process i normally expect God to change me instantly like baaaaaam you are now submissive but that stems out of being lazy and not allowing God to uproot the issues within me so i can fully be healed... Stephanie Okafor! I thank you for your obedience to our Lord and saviour i desire to come to that obedience too one day! The fear of the Lord is truly His treasure! Godbless you!

Something I was taught is that we have to already be “wifes” as the scripture says “he who finds a wife finds a good thing”. So as it relates to submission, we can be submissive to the men and women of God in our lifes now; like pastors, our parents, small group leaders etc.(not bfs)to prepare us for marriage. That way it’s a practiced habit vs something we’re starting upon marriage (I’m single as well)

We'll be celebrating our 11th year anniversary this October, but the first two years were trying. I almost ended my marriage if not for my mother. Then the Holy spirit instructed me to submit to my husband and I decided to submit. But still we still had issues, he took my submission for granted and disrespected me even more. I was miserable and depressed and wondered if God was even seeing what I was going through. Then the Holy spirit instructed me to pray for my husband and that was when I started seeing results. The day my husband called me blessed and that he was a very lucky man to be married to me, that day I knew God has taken charge of his heart and of our home. Submission and prayers for our spouse is a great weapon. Thank you for sharing these powerful message.

We forget that God is working on those around us (including our husbands) just as instenselu as he is working on us. So it serves us good to submit to our (future) husbands and to be good listeners and intentional with our words. When I became a mother I gave so much attention to our baby, that I became 'annoyed' with my husband. God called me out by askind me why are you hurting my child, and I thought but im doing everything for your child, and he said I love my child just as much as you love your baby. I realised he was talking about my husband as his child not our baby. That was a heart changing POV for me.

Pastor Stephanie, thank you so much for doing this series. I am a new Christian, and my husband and I are going through couples counseling to work through being a partnership and having two different belief systems. My husband is an unbeliever and wants to protect our son from the influence of Christianity. He wants to forbid our son from going to church, reading or learning about the Bible, hearing worship music, and being around other Christians. I am completely willing to become the Godly wife that God calls us to be. I respect my husband's rules and submit to him. Let me tell you, Jesus has transformed our marriage in how He has been working on my heart, helping me to be more submissive and empathetic. Pastor Stephanie, I will rewatch this and take notes. I have also sent this to my sister, who is also a new follower of Jesus and is married with a young child. Thank you Pastor Steph for this great and insightful marriage series. For comments talking about marriages and issues with regards to submission, Pastor Stephanie's marriage series is primarily addressing singles who are not yet married, so that they can gain knowledge and understanding in order to Choose well and marry well. Because God's original order is that as a woman-you SUBMIT to the man that you have carefully and prayerfully chosen to marry and as a man-you LOVE the woman that you have carefully and prayerfully chosen to marry-regardless of their shortcomings because nobody is perfect. We are all work in progress and we help each other to become the better version of ourselves. Anything less is Disobedience to God. God's Idea is to Choose right and Marry right. If you choose well-Love and submission will not be an issue because you are both Submitted to God.

Weirdly this is the 3rd or 4th video that I watched where I notice a weird distortion coming in and out in your audios. It freaks me out, I wonder if anyone else notices this.

Praise God for using you to be a teacher. Thank you. I am struggling with submission and chaos has entered my marriage. Lord help me, guide me, and show me how to submit. Teach me more about the word submission and what it looks like according to your word. ✝️

I’ll be honest Pastor Stephanie, submission used to be a trigger word for me particularly because I’ve felt I always had to be in control and had grown up so independent. However, God has been intentional about teaching me submission and I’m grateful to be learning this now. Thank you so much for this, it blessed me🙏🏾

Will be one year In January we have been having a rough time. As much as I hate it I know I’m part of the problem. But I didn’t know how to get better this helped a lot. I will now be watching the other ones to! I love that you were gentle about talking to us. Some people really get into it and yell. I love that because you know the Holy Spirit is working through them. But it’s also refreshing to have someone who doesn’t!❤

Thanks so much momma for this teaching. I'm a young lady in my 23 years of life but this teaching is a changing moment of my life. I always argue a lot with my fiancee but I've learned to be quiet sometimes. Thanks ma.

When I read the story of Sarah and Abraham you cited, honestly I thought he was crazy. It’s really a hard teaching to submit even when you think his idea is foolishness. But now I know it means I trust God to work it out with him or just intervene. Thank you Pastor Stephanie, it’s always a blessing listening to you ❤.

Pastor Stephanie, may you make a video on what this looks like in courtship? You made a vital point regarding how your behavior played a pivotal role into making it in marriage. Thus, I think more knowledge is needed ... like what are the boundaries on showing these qualities (ie: submission) to a man you're courting?

This!! I also commented on the godly husband's teaching about boundaries. I'm looking forward to learning on this topic from her

@@ThecreativeTolu Yeahh i think it’s a huge gap of knowledge regarding courtship. Everything is either singleness or marriage

Funny story when my husband and I were getting married. And the pastor was going over our wedding vows. I didn't want the word. Wife submit to your husband for me. It was a trigger because I had been in an abusive relationship and was a single mom for 23 years prior to meeting my husband. But as I'm learning and on this walk with God now that I understand more clearly because God has given me clarity on what he meant by wife submitting to your husband's. It makes me sad that I didn't have it in my wedding vows, because now that I understand and have the knowledge and It's like you mentioned having wisdom and knowledge. And now. I embrace it as a beautiful thing. My husband and I we laugh about that now. Because it's just a funny story.❤😂

Love this! As a woman wanting to be married when my time comes I’m still working that out with the Holy Spirit bc like you said it triggers me too not bc of a bad romantic relationship but seeing my dad abusing my mum’s submission to dominate her in a bad way… (you know the people that interpret the Bible to always be in their favor).. but like your story, God can turn anything bad into something beautiful and I know He is turning my heart too to see submission as a shelter me and not a sword that will pierce me…🧡

This is so touching. Lately, it has been really crazy with my marriage and my response has been very harsh. I received this revelation today and I’m taking a new trend in honor to God.

Watching and listening to this ,my inner man is in total agreement I now understand that silence is so golden and not everything needs a response ,I almost spoilt a good relationship with always thinking I have to speak my mind and it always made the situation worse .But lately the holy Spirit has been working on my heart and tongue ,submission is for a heart willing to lay down self for the other .Thank you pastor Stephanie for teaching us the Godly principles of living I will come back with a testimony in Jesus name
