To add, people tend to say that the first year of marriage is the hardest which is the farthest thing from the truth! We enjoyed ourselves, had fun, learned a lot about each other and now we are at almost 4 years in with a baby on the way. The years after our first year of marriage was where we faced a lot of things together, couldn’t do without Jesus! And remember love languages can change throughout the years for your spouse! We are not the same people we were when we got married in 2020. The topic of taking from your parents marriage or learning what you don’t want to take from your parents marriage is so real!!!!

I have to say--like with anything--you have to be SO careful with what you consume on a daily basis. As a Christian, I'm always hesitant of Christian KZbin content. However, I am so impressed by the accurate biblical truths that y'all are sharing. A lot of times you see the Christian culture space with this "prosperity gospel" angle. It breaks my heart to see how inaccurate it is. But y'all have done such a great job reminding those watching that WE serve God. God doesn't serve us. And it's not about "what do I have to do so that God gives me a blessed marriage". (like a transactional relationship--that's not what we're called to have with Jesus). It's about our relationship with Jesus first, period. Sometimes God blesses us with marriage, or he blesses us with singleness! Both are beautiful parts of journey here!

As I sit here with a marriage on the rocks that I am passionately fighting for with God, know that when you get married, that doesn’t free you from spiritual warfare. In fact, it means that Satan is an unwelcome guest and will come at you more, especially if God is where He should be in your marriage. Make sure God is front and center. It’s not just you and your spouse in your marriage. It’s you, your spouse, God and Satan. Your spouse is not your enemy. Pray for you spouse and your marriage and your family daily. I am just coming into the realization of all of this as I have grown in my relationship with God and I wish I’d of better prepared this way and perhaps my marriage wouldn’t be in the turmoil it’s in.
