Just because you're a good player doesn't mean you're going to be a good coach. And I think parents need to realize that the person they are sending their kids to may be doing more harm than good to your kid as a person.
In this clip from my new podcast, I talked with Coach Steinman on how to be a good baseball coach.

Just want to put this out there, I’m a young head coach of 2 years of head coaching, I’m 23 years old, thank you for this discussion as it made me re-think the way I do certain things, this will definitely help me be a better coach.

I think what makes a good coach is someone who is fairly passive-aggressive, but respectfully at all times and someone who has good ball knowledge and can simplify things and identify and adapt to the learning/comprehension flaws in their players. All the best coaches I ever had were aggressive to the point that you cared about what you were doing wrong, but could flip that switch to remind me that they cared about me and always had my back.

Good discussion here. I’m a relatively new coach/instructor and these conversations help me think more about my approach to teaching today’s youth. Appreciate it!
