Stationed with a guy that weighed a buck '05 wet. Never raised his voice, but he was a target of another platoon member. Until one day that "bully", who outweighed our quiet guy by easily 150lbs broke a piece of family heritage and laughed about it, and our guy beat the brakes off of him with such ease that my jaw hung open. I was and wasn't surprised.

I have been downrange as a Marine Rifleman 6 times, am prepared and have the tools to survive and defend my family and home, have been in more fist fights and whooped some ass and had my ass whooped just the same, but what makes me dangerous, is my love of my home, my love of the people around, what makes me dangerous is my unwaivering stance on what I believe in and what I stand for. I have no fear of death because I know God and know when I leave this earth I will be with him. Like I teach my kids and nephews and nieces, let love guide your decisions, don't let anger control you, see fear as just excitement of what is to come, do what is right even when no one is watching, and always own any action you do. A warrior does what he does not out of hate of his enemies, but out of love for the people her serves. Because of that love of his people a warrior will awful things to those that pose threats to those he loves.

Well said Marine! The ideal situation is showing love for you friends, family, and your fellow man, your aggressors will become your friends. I hope I never have to take a human life, but if I do, I cannot hold back. That split second could get you killed. Treating ppl with respect and kindness, even if they don't show you reapect or kindness back, will hopefully over time rubber off on them . ( sorry, best way I can say it). We don't always know what happened in another person's life to make them that way. I am a Christian, but, first when I speak of my faith I let it be known that I'm a damn good sinner. Do not be there to judge, but also, do not let your standards fall or your integrity waiver to reach down and help someone. I did it in the past and it blew up in my face. Hope this helps someone. Good video Bill

A dangerous person is a person that doesn't see death or imprisonment as a deterrent. My dad is a Vietnam veteran, 76 years old, and I asked him once when I was younger if he ever got scared. He said "oh yeah, but you've got to learn to turn that fear into rage, once you do that you forget about being scared, that is how you stay alive".

Grew up with a single father who was a viet nam vet. We lived in a "rooming house" run by and mostly full of guys in a very well known outlaw MC. Also viet name vets. I myself ran the streets as a kid in this very dangerous town. And eventually spent a lil time behind bars and joined an outlaw MC myself. Does any of that make me tough or dangerous in and of itself ? No. Did it help ? Sure. But in my personal experience/story, Will-Power plays a significant role. Or more appropriately "the Will to Power". I have never been a loud mouth, a braggert or a bully. And most guys who project how "tough" they are, usually aren't. For me, i shoulda been killed 20 times over growing up. By 12 i'd already been shot once, stabbed four different times, had my head cracked with a chunk of asphalt and more. I chose to live. To survive. So all conflict since 12 has been approached as a "life or death" matter. I never shit-talked or did the shoving game or any of it. My one saving grace was i retained enough self control to not kill the guy who thought he was in a standard ol dust up. For me it was never just a fight. And that "aura" projects. I can't tell you how many times I've been to a place or a store and later on or days later found out a crime took place on the dy i was there. Only to see the suspects faces on tv and realize i saw those bastards. They looked right at me. So what kept them from doing what they did to me ? Intent, integrity, will-power, aura, etc. There is a difference between projecting the image of a "bad ass" and projecting "Danger". Someone will always eventually wanna test drive a "bad ass". A Bear walks around looking like a happy, dopey giant stuffed animal. Wolves frolic in the leave look like big puppies. Lions lounging in the sun look lazy and lethargic. But we all know they're not. Lol. They don't need to act like bad asses. They project the quiet calm of being truly dangerous. And that is what we Men must project. I get along with just about everyone. I love laughing and joking around. But when push comes to shove....I know how to be dangerous. Food for thought fellas. Just my 2 cents. Take it or leave it.

The ability to "flip the switch" from peaceful, to focused rage. Just this morning at the grocery store parking lot, I heard women screaming. They were screaming at each other about how one was driving poorly. One had her tweener daughter with her. Bringing out my phone and recording never crossed my mind, but should I pull them apart if the lock up ? Should I even get involved ? It's a pretty Sunday morning, my own kid waiting for BLT stuff. (Full time single father here) Luckily, they just yelled from the back of the parking lot all the way to the store entrance while I flanked them. I'm over 60, drive a school bus with 3 of my 4 runs from the part of town no one wants to drive out of. So my reaction skills are fairly well honed. Also earned my Black Belt 20 years ago back home in Texas, try to eat right and do work out daily. Also eat creatine and other supplements daily. I feel if I need to be dangerous, I'm perfectly capable. I'd rather just continue mentor my bus kids and hope they grow into a better life than they are living now.

Best to not insert yourself in any conflict that is not your business. They'll likely just team up and attack you for intervening. Also, a Leftist DA lives for the opportunity to make examples out of good men who just wanted to do the "right thing". Not worth your time, finances, or freedom for a stranger. I have a "no intervention" policy unless the victim is younger than 10.

For me, it's all about mindset and training, especially when stepping into a situation. I've encountered multiple scenarios where I had to intervene. Twice, I had to protect people being attacked on a bus and train. Additionally, I provided first aid with my wife to a pedestrian who was run over by a car. We were the first to act as it happened right in front of us. I've also been attacked on the street, but no harm came to me; my self-defense training kicked in, among other things. For me, it's essential to train and shift your mindset to handle various situations effectively. Great discussion , Cheers Dave.

My opinion...if you have the ability, you have the obligation. Ever since going through years of Jui-Jitsu, Krav Maga, fire arms training etc... I haven't had one scrape in defense of myself. In the last 20 years, I've stopped two home invasions in progress that lead to arrests and helped others with minor skirmishes. I haven't defended myself once. (knock on wood lol) I'm not a bad ass. I'm 5'8 and skinny. One of my instructors told me when I was young and just starting out in all this, that a day would come when I would suddenly realize that people weren't messing with me anymore and he was 100% correct. I use to get picked on and bullied all the time and I'm not out here walking around like I think I'm tough either... that's the kind of stupidity that attracts other idiots...I just carry myself differently. I have situational awareness. I look people in the eye. I don't walk around in public with my face in my phone. I teach others when and where I can. Every dude I've trained under that is a legit bad-ass has said the same thing. The best fight is the one that never happened. You don't have to be in the military to treat the world like the war-zone that it is. Get trained. Be aware. Protect those who need it.

I'll piggyback off that Stoker. When I joined the Navy in 2015, besides learning to embrace our branch's core values, Honor, Courage, and Commitment, I also learned about integrity, and action. What just as important, to me, is action and acting when necessary. I may have been just a Hospital Corpsman, but when we don't act in a medical emergency, people die. When we don't act when we take fire with our Marines, our brothers die. When we get out and let the civilian world passify us, beat us down, and pretend to care about our problems, our souls die. The best way to maintain your integrity is to act. In those same ways we did when in uniform, even if no one was watching, we still acted accordingly to keep our integrity. The only difference now is accountability. YOU keep yourself accountable, for yourself. No Chief, Sgt. or Officer is gonna rain hell on you for lacking integrity. Only yourself, and God.

I was homeless when I was 20, on the streets of chicago, i spent 15 years entranched in the drug world and did 5 years in prison. Desparation and hunger make people do bad things, bad choices....you learn or fail. I chose to correct my behaviours and choices, especially by enacting this speech really, not verbatim for all you super serious type, but alone in prison...looking at the "tough guys" wander around lost and scared deep down inside.....anyways, im about to ramble off topic....decisions have results. Good and bad. The choices I made in the past led me here to understand....when shtf happens fr, well, if you ever been in a prison riot or within the vacinity of one you know killer be killed type of frenzy....those people are lying in wait....sociopaths and psychopaths do sonetimes evolve and learn to wait ubtil tue time is right. I, sadly but gladly, feel a bit more secure about these scenarios. Learning to read people better, learning to move quietly and act like your doing what your supposednto be doing. Knowing, sometimes honor will get you killed when faced with a certain kind of foe...i hope it never comes to that kinda lifestyle on the streets.....in prison and on the street you guard everything you have amd crush anyone who tries to take yours. Honor, I found, was when someone called me a bitch and I laughed. No one controls me but me...life is an absolute precious gift so love this right now...somedays these memories of arguing about this or that in chat is gone, its coping however. Anyways, this was a ramble of an answer 😂

I will take a squad of average soldiers with integrity over a squad of PT studs that have none. One of the things I am grateful for in the friendships I have is we are all able to call each other out if we see/perceive an integrity violation. We all value being called out because we know it comes from a place of respect. With all that said I think what makes a person dangerous is intelligence. Intelligence should not be confused with knowledge, knowledge is stuff you know, intelligence is the ability to think critically in a variety of circumstances. Good video.

It would be reasonable to say the lack of integrity in contemporary America has come about because people do not speak, that they do not have faith in their own judgement. Its like looking over the edge of a cliff. If you jump, you might die, you might be badly injured, or you might get by unscathed. Can you make the decision to jump, knowing the consequences, and follow through on that decision regardless of outcome? At one point i could. Nowadays, I don’t know if i could anymore. I got soft.

As for being cut off in traffick I try to assume they may be going through something that is distracting them or having an emergency. Imagine how you would feel if they were dealing with a life and death situation and you tried to get even and someone died. A bad feeling you probably won't outlive. They get a pass, I get to stay at peace. Good topic bud. Imho.

Taking the line from the movie "Lawless" , about the Bondurant's and their bootlegging operation, a person is dangerous if they control the fear. Forrest says to Jack - ".............we're survivors. We control the fear. Without the fear, we're all as good as dead." And/or ".......................It's not the violence that sets a man apart. It is the distance he is prepared to go....." Fear can control people. Look what this illegitimate administration, "Poopy Pants", has done the past three years making people afraid "of their own shadow".

Many will say it’s “how they’re wired” or whatever, to that I agree at a certain level… but you must keep your mind focused and sharp, on the important things in life to truly be effective.. just like combatives.. regular training keeps your mind in “That zone” so to speak.. alway ready, same as edc’ing a firearm, keeping your mind sharp and focused will vastly increase your recognition and reaction times.. I think it’s the same for Integrity and conviction… you must test it and evaluate on the regular.. having like-minded MEN around you, makes it all the better. Iron sharpens iron and all that.. 🙌👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🇺🇸

Being dangerous is not one of my goals. Wearing the tough guy mask for the world to see is just posturing. That is dangerous. Knowing who you are and how you will react is what matters. Knowing you will respond will strength, dignity, and empathy, and accept the fate you are given is what counts. Amor Fati. Authenticity. Humility. Creating a badass public persona and projecting yourself as "dangerous", is just silly and juvenile. Keep it real.

I have said lately to a number of my male friends that a man should be dangerous.......they immediately thought I ment bad, evil, terrible.........I would respond that if a man is not dangerous he is useless...........I would say dangerous is not evil......if you are not dangerous how can you protect the ones you love.....how can you be trusted to handle bad situations........how can you help out if violence is the only answer and you are incapable of it........ask yourself this, am I dangerous to evil.........?

Perceived as being dangerous to others would be a bad thing. Taking care of matters in the proper way when required would be a good way. Egoism wants to rule individuals. Recognize that. Self knowledge and mindfulness.

Something I would like to stress is that there are different kinds of 'dangerous". In this case, I cannot strongly enough recommend checking out Cipolla's 5 Laws of Stupidity. Also Boenhoffer's Theory of Stupidity. I know clearly that the kind of "dangerous" being described in this video is one that Cipolla would describe as "intelligent" or "non-stupid", however, there is talk of being selfless, and while in some senses, that may be honorable. To be of service to others IS honorable, but to be truly intelligent, one must be of service both to others AND one's self. Let's face it, if you're dead, or incarcerated, your ability to serve others becomes rather limited. Integrity IS dangerous, and it is honorable, and the scariest thing I think for people of integrity to face is our own weakness in that and other areas as well. Imagine this: 20 children are being held hostage, none of them are yours. You know the only way to save therm is to hand carry a satchel charge into the room where the bad guys are, it has to be detonated manually, and your child will never see you ever again. You can no longer protect them raise them, guide them, all gone in an instant. There is no other way to save those 20 kids. 20 other people's kids live or your kid gets the childhood with you in it. Think about it, and don't bullshit yourself. Your death will be so fast, you'll never feel it. But what matters most?

Honor be praised. I do what I say if I say it, and I say what I do if i do it, unless its a risk to the op sec. I used to always compromise my op sec. I still do it sometimes but no where near as overtly as I used to. I thought the stuff I want to do is super cool and figured people would wanna know. But NOPE 😄 just opens the door to skepticism to say the least. So by that my metal has been hardened and I learned a lesson. That lesson is: STFU. Cuz actions speak louder than words. Regardless of what anyone says or thinks about it, I stay the course because I know its the right thing to do even though its dangerous. People will believe it when they see it. No point in trying to convince anyone. And besides, trying to convince people of it just takes away from time spent working to actually achieve it.

A harmless man is not a good man. A good man is a very, very dangerous man who has that under voluntary control. Jordan Peterson I don’t have kids but my best friend has two girls. If something was to happen to them.. voluntary control would be suspended.

I have a pretty simple, perhaps simplistic understanding of the concept of what being a dangerous man is. Seems to me that the cornerstone of it would be the question of finding myself with nothing but my hands and feet, how much damage can I do?, everything else is secondary to that. Like stacking legos, you need that first one to add to.

My definition of a dangerous person are those people who act on impulse "stupidity" instead of cool headed logic. Don't get me wrong both are dangerous individuals but it's the one who has no bearing is the one I fear most.

Dangerous? Many different types of dangerous, sane or insane dangerous, drug induced dangerous, trained dangerous, lack of fear dangerous or death dangerous, knowing how to defend yourself dangerous, knowing how to hurt dangerous, having a state of mind dangerous, stupid dangerous, trying to prove yourself or create a reputation dangerous, having something to prove dangerous, or does being dangerous all come down to a couple of things, training over and over with having a dangerous state of mind like military trained combat personnel? Anyone can be dangerous. Opportunity can create dangerous situations. The weak can be dangerous and force their will on others because they have a knife, gun or some other weapon. Does being dangerous come down to projecting self confidence to others, or is because your sphere of influence knows of your training? Is being dangerous because you instill fear in others? Is being scary to others being dangerous? Being dangerous can be one thing or it can be a culmination of a few aforesaid things. Just acting like you’re dangerous can get you hurt or even worse killed. Be careful what you choose or project to others.

To answer your movie question: The original Predator from the late 80s with Arnold comes to mind... I was gonna say wisdom, instead of integrity, as the key attribute to being a dangerous man, who manages it well in a society.

Being dangerous is "the capacity and or willingness to inflict harm or damage". No matter the context, no matter the situation that definition applies. Whether judging others or ourselves...that standard is how we determine if it applies. Further, our assumptions are often wrong about what is, and is not dangerous.

I would say that there are many forms of dangerous, one example that comes to mind when someone isn’t necessarily armed to the teeth or capable of killing. A dangerous individual is a unpredictable and desperate person who either has everything too loose or is bat shit crazy and doesn’t think of consequence for an action. Another form of dangerous would be an unprepared and I’ll informed individual with hero complex or wants to be an alpha and assert control that then leads to poor decisions.
