As a 70 year old lifetime homemaker, it is so encouraging to know there are young ladies who see value in managing a home, supporting her husband behind the scenes and embracing her femininity in a God honoring way. I have watched several of your videos and have noticed you sometimes refer to us older women as "old lady". Maybe just my personal pet peeve but to me I would find it much more feminine and lady like to refer to an older woman as "an older woman" or an "elderly woman: anything but "old lady" which sounds so undignified. May God bless you as you embrace your chosen path.

Rhat's funny. The only thing I DON'T like is, that she always says, that no woman HAS to be like that. Because firstly no one is forced to come here and secondly we live in a world where one stamps grumpy on the floor if someone dares to tell him what to do. People should learn again to take advise and to be humble. Audrey Hepburn was a lady. And she sometimes said how a real woman behaves and acts. She never cared to say: "Oh, but it's okay if you are not like that." No, that was what a real woman was to her and that's it. No excuses and trying to make it right for everyone.. I totally understand Caitleen, that's just the way it is nowadays. I still admire woman brave enough to say what they thing and believe in, without feeling the urge to make it right to everyone. Without judging obviously. But it's okay to say that's right, that's wrong

I also struggle because I think sometimes abusive people will take advantage of polite people as we are seen as passive and people pleasers. I notice acting rude can keep people away from me. @@flowerssmile I think it is important to know when you need to be a bit forceful, but even then you can be polite. But if someone is abusive or threatening, at some point one has to fight back and be very clear about "not having it". There are extreme situations that call for extreme measures. But one can always make the effort to try his or her best way first, and be consistent about it. And even when being upset you can show it in a lady-like manner, only if that absolutely does not work then...either leave the situation asap, find support in another way and/or call your husband ;)

You are a breath of fresh air!! I am 66 years young, and through the decades, have ebbed and flowed with the times, although I’d like to think I always had manners and respect for others. My advice to young women, is to heed your lessons and try to incorporate them as best they can. “A lady is never lazy,” is something we should all strive for. I feel like with the advent of technology, we have become so distracted that we let our whole life pass us by as we stare at that little screen. I’m guilty of this also, but please, please, please young people, get off your phone and live your life! I was in the doctor’s office yesterday, and a beautiful young mother was there with her 3year old (I’m guessing at his age) son. He was beside himself with excitement as he watched the fish in the waiting room aquarium. He obviously had been well trained, because he was quiet as he tried desperately to get his mother’s attention. Unfortunately, she never looked up from her phone, and I can’t imagine those 10 minutes on her phone were more important than her son’s face, his eyes, his smile, as he watched something he probably rarely saw. I know it made MY day! I’m an observer of life. I was an international flight attendant for 40 years. I have a lot of life behind me, and your advice is wonderful to any young woman starting out in life, and will set her up for a beautiful life ahead! Bravo on your channel! You truly are a beauty, inside and out!

I learned a lot from Marie Kondo's books. I didn't implement 100% but for example, she said to take out everything from your bag every single day, and put the necessary things in it freshly every morning. I already kept few things in my bag because I dreaded my mom's heavy, impossibly bulky, funny smelling handbag (sorry mom, I love you, haha). But after this tip, my bag is flawless, and I carry very little=good posture, lighter image, etc.

@@sarahs7253 There is a difference between eye contact in a conversation that is about a specific topic or small talk and just looking people in the eyes for a rather long time without reason. I realized that too much eye contact with men can be seen as inviting. As always, notice the fine line and the nuances here. When talking to your superior at work it is important to listen closely to things he or she says, and eye contact is important for understanding. When talking to a colleague, and he seems to be enjoying your company and would be a potential partner, then of course, you don't want to overdo it and be a bit more discreet about it. Except of course, you would like to flirt with him and be open to a possible relationship.

Making sure my back is rested against the back of the chair has translated to it being much straighter while standing and walking. It really helps. Hi Caitlin, thanks for all these great videos you post! It's so refreshing to see femininity and lady like behaviours being encouraged on your channel. Ever since I was young I was raised by all these rules and it's something that aside from being taught to me also I guess stuck with me and comes naturally. I can relate to the way you speak, and hold yourself but I wanted to ask you how you deal with the negativity. I'm 24, and I feel like so many people (especially girls my age) seem to not like me for the exact way I hold myself. The fact I don't drink (and get sloppy drunk), use vulgar language, or even "sleep around". I put so much effort in and respect for others and I still get a lot of negativity for it. I've been called precious and prissy by some, often frigid by guys. You might think it's because I'm stuck up, but I try so hard to please people and be kind and it's really upsetting to see people still get bothered by me just because of my mannerism. Honestly, it's really getting to me lately as I feel like girls/women like us are not well liked, especially in this generation and especially by other women (mostly women rather than men it seems). Could you please discuss this maybe in a future video, how to deal with these sort of beliefs by others towards women like ourselves. Thanks so much lovely :)

I so relate to this. I think it is important for us to find “our community” or people who love, accept us and share our values. Good for you for sticking to your values as it can be easy to be swayed by others.

Watching your video I realize how much my mom taught me about manners and how to carry myself in public. I feel so grateful to her now although it wasn’t always easy as a child, and I definitely want to teach the same to my future children. Your channel really is one of my favorite! You have such a nice energy, it’s very refreshing❤️

Oh my goodness! This video is a wake up call to me. I pride myself in being polite, considerate, and conscientious with other people. In fact, I put a lot of effort into reaching out to ppl with kindness and warmth. I have been wondering why lately some people don't always respect me and I realize there are many things in this video that I don't do, especially related to how I carry and groom myself. I will start by improving my posture tomorrow morning.

As a guy this is great to see. Like you said people don't have to but if they do... Women who put people first light up any room. You can always tell when a woman are aware of the power of sweet subtlety and attention to those around them and themselves. I think it is something some are born with but you can always learn. Any real ladies here I would love to meet u 😘

You’re very articulate and always look on point. I’m an older feminine female yet enjoy learning from different types of women. I notice when I’m helpful that certain people take advantage of my kindness. Can you make a video on how to be assertive yet remain ladylike?

Yes!!! Just made a post about this! When I am lady like, people try to walk all over me, too.

@@naavajo Couple videos ago, she talked about learning to say 'NO' Don't look at your struggle to day NO as a bad thing. Femininity is associated with high traits of agreeableness, which is an excellent trait in connecting with someone emotionally. However if your kid keeps asking for candy, and you don't say no, it's gonna be bad for his oral health. It's all about finding the right balance. Say NO and be firm with it when it's for the good of someone. Also, don't feel guilty for saying no. Or don't let people make you guilty for saying no.

I think it's just a matter of trying to stay healthy, and patient with people. My main issue is that im very defensive I have all these triggers and pet peeves with people but when I go to work each day I try to put on my happy face lol.

Thank you so much for everything in the video!!✨ The message conveyed is amazing, and extremely helpful for young girls like myself!😊 and I really appreciate the ending where you emphasized ‘ The core of being ladylike is all about being free and fun’, because I believe being ladylike is a deliberate choice to stride towards the brighter side, instead of feeling controlled or pressured.❤️ we need more KZbinrs like this! Yes, please continue the videos on being lady-like. I remember in the early 70's we were told not to use the term "lady" but to say woman instead, because the term "lady" required rules for women to follow and we were now liberated. The term "gentleman" stayed in the vernacular, however, it is used synonymously with "male." I believe men should also learn what it means to be a "gentleman" as it refers to someone who has good manners.
