I managed to accomplish it using your principle (the shadow-step one). It took dozens of attempts-probably around 50-60-and a lot of frustration, particularly due to the horrible hitbox of this chicken, among other issues. I'm starting to question whether it's worth subjecting myself to this level of anger over a video game, especially since I'm not a kid anymore. If this is just a mid-game boss, I can't even begin to imagine what facing a final (or multiple final) bosses will be like. The game is interesting and visually stunning, but I have to prioritize my well-being. After defeating this one, I felt empty. It's not a good feeling.

This guy dodges my heavy attacks like he has ultra instinct. Freezing him helps a lot. Almost got him my second try. Found this video so I should be able to get him now. I just kept trying to sweep the legs. At 25% health in phase two he does a massive AOE. I wasn't expecting that.

This might be the worst hitbox issue I've personally encountered. Last night over the course of couple runs, I connected ONE charged heavy/unvieling strike out of my last eleven attempts. Rage quit & came back tonight, got him second try. Right after I had missed a charged heavy, while he was 100% frozen. Like sword fighting with a wet sock for christ sake. Yesssiir you said it right, DO NOT want to fight him again, this chicken was indeed harder than Yellow Loong or 100 Eyed Daoist Master but I cheesed the first phase without any effort at all by using pillar stance completely without using any mana or anything, second phase was a different ball game though. Looks like I should have changed stance to Smash again but only reason didn't feel at all comfortable with using Smash stance was because how much it moved around, whereas pillar stance had the range of hit when it stopped moving for a bit

I farmed at Rockrest Flat for some hours and I got a lot of mindcores and leveled up. That helped a lot.

Also try farming in the cave where the web sacks are hanging right next to the temple and use rage burst to destroy 15 of them every time I went up 30 levels and under an hour and I have 600 and something thousand will I think it’s the best form in the game And if you put on the proper garb, you will get even more experience and will. I think it’s called the jaded pool something. It’s inside the caves with all the spiders. Very good farm

You keep saying that you are equipping COLD EDGE , but what ends up being equipped in your fight build is AZURE DUST . Am I missing something? Does cold edge have a passive buff even if you equipped Azure Dust? The game is definitely not making it easier for us to figure out its mechanics. I just learned the other day that “attack” and “damage bonus” are two different stats 😂
