Interesting point on the girlfriend coming to Chris's defense. She knew in advance that her family would attempt to use/kidnap him, and if the policeman had clocked Chris's ID it would've left a paper trail connecting him to her. So while that moment seems nice, in reality there's an ulterior motive. It's kinda cool to watch the girlfriend with this kind of thing in mind, everything she does is very intentional.

Everyone’s talking about the alternative ending, so here’s my take. If the ending would’ve been where Chris gets put in prison it would’ve made no sense, because of the crime scene of the entire house. They would find the old man they were doing the incision on and also see the incisions on Georgina’s head and connect the dots. Also the dad being the neurosurgeon and the brother also being in scrubs not to mention all the footage on the TV about their family history. Maybe I’m looking into this too much but if this was real life Chris probably would’ve gotten off based on the crime scene.

Open the bathroom door and close it so they think you went there, then sneak into roses room and sneak out the window like you said. A few nice little details about the movie: At the Party everyone is wearing some form of red garment (tie, shirt, or scarf, etc) and Chris is the only one wearing blue, almost to symbolize the two political parties. Another thing was the deer symbolism. They hit and killed a deer, then the dad talks about how they’re “taking over and need to be killed” and then later on the dad is killed by a stuffed deer head.

@JuriAmari3 жыл бұрын
Yeah. It was a hard ending and I’m glad Peele decided not to make it canon. It’s realistic but it’s frustrating because there are so many films where PoC characters don’t make it out or get the happy end they deserve. This is one part I do appreciate about it - The peace of mind Chris gets is trying to help Georgina (the maid) in the way he couldn’t help his mom. That was the one trauma the Armitages weaponized via a hypnosis trigger and Chris’s attempt to help Georgina was his way of taking back control and a subtle way of getting the closure he didn’t know he needed until then. It makes the prison sentence look so minor in comparison because his mind is no longer a prison.

You’re dumb that ending is very unrealistic you’re just saying it is because they’re Black and you want to be a victim. Sorry to break it to you but stuff like that doesn’t just happen to black people it happens to everybody
@solarose78203 жыл бұрын
@@ehall3915 This ending would've been very unrealistic if the house wasn't burned to the ground because all of the evidences were in it. That was very dumb of him to do that. There was the tape of the grandfather explaining everything (thus confessing everything), all of the clinical/medical tools and rooms, the restraints, the pictures of the daughter with all these missing black people, probably records and so on ! Now that the house is burned the only thing that may help him is the dead bodies of the maid and the gardener. They could (maybe) prove via dna testing that the brain inside their head is not theirs. But without the house's evidences : who will listen to a black man telling such a crazy story ? And to your last comment : yes of course stuff like that (false accusation, abuse, etc) happens to non black people wow thanks Captain Obvious we know that. It's like saying "you know guys men get raped too". Of course it happens but the situations are so different you just cannot compare them. Xoxo take care !

This is one of the few movies that gave me a very satisfactory ending. You know how they build you until the end, and in most movies the protagonist is super vulnerable but somehow escape, survive or overcome whatever, but there is always something left, like a character that deserves to die and didn't, or something that tells you there is a (probable) part 2. In this movie, not only they build you up being alarm of those people but also hating them and what is more satisfactory than a badass full of hatred comes and kills everyone without a second thought. Just perfect 👏
