Yep, you should keep trying till he plays the same moves, and this was just me beating nelson in eight moves.

I was trying to mate him using thid but he didn't play the same moves but I kept playing and eventually mated him on my own!

Quicker is you play as white e4 e5 nf3 qa4 bf4 qxe4+ qe2 qxb2 qa5 qxa1 qc7 and you mate on c8 i think i might have got this wrong i did it in my head lol

It doesn't neccesarily happen. I tried it and he played it differently. To beat Nelson u must make uo your own tactic. Nice try tho
