Do you think of yourself as a victim of circumstance? Ella Mills - the founder of Deliciously Ella - used to live with a sense that life was unfair to her. Now, she knows that ultimately the only person in charge of your life is you.
In this chat with Fearne, Ella talks about realising apathy was a symptom of depression, and explains why sometimes you have to hit rock bottom in order to acknowledge what needs to change.
Ella and Fearne also talk about why the way we eat has become so emotive and divisive. They reckon we should be focusing on sharing joyful knowledge that will make us all healthier and more energetic, so chat through some simple ways to feel good about what you’re eating.
Ella’s latest recipe book, Healthy Made Simple, is out now.

Thankyou Ella and Fearne. This information is what needs be taught to chileren. Ella you speak so eloquently and you're so easy to listen to. I changed my eating habits a year ago and I think so much clearer and have less fatigue as a mummy of 4 and working in the NHS. ❤

I have followed Ella's work since the beginning and I feel so proud of her and all that she creates. Such a visionary and maverick. Actually, you both are. Thank you for this beautiful conversation. Sarah x

I'm smiling and internally "yessss"ing at you both talk about being an introvert. Doesn't mean we don't like fun and I know what you mean about the "cool" mentality in society, I felt exactly the same growing up.

Amazing to have Ella on speaking about how important nutrition is in her life and in general. The impact that it can have on wellbeing and mindset. This means a lot as a mental health ambassador. Something that I am passionate about. The one major piece of advice I took away is that there is no one knows your own body like yourself. I have always had a balanced diet not about eating clean for me. This was insightful 🧡🧡

Really enjoying this interview and will start looking into Ella more as tbh I have never heard of her before. I've just started learning more about ultra processed foods as you can't get away from a lot of it especially with children in your life so will definitely be looking in to your book. As far as I'm aware, from Doctors who have done interviews, is that the power of your diet and nutrition isn't taught in Medical School, pharmaceutical companies have a lot to answer for and medication only masks the symptoms and leads to other imbalances in the body. It doesn't resolve the CAUSE of symptoms, a healthy patient is not financially beneficial to these companies 🤷🏻 There is an amazing documentary on Prime called HEAL, definitely recommend, especially for anyone suffering with their health.

I would love to completely change my diet and feel better for it. I’m over weight and suffer with joint pains and anxiety and low mood. I just don’t know where to start. I’d love to cut out sugar but I have a massive sweet tooth and substituting for dark chocolate isn’t going to cut it.
