There's an issue with your initial point. There _are_ bells in attack on titan, we saw them used in Shiganshina in episode one. The reason there were none where the moustache guy (Miche's) squad was placed is because it isnt a big city. Titans are drawn to large populations so that's where bells have to be placed not in secluded zones far from any civilians. Also the cities are more likely to be breached, no one expected titans to come from Ragako village.

At this point in the story, titans were known to be active during the day as they get their energy from the sun, titans become inactive shortly after nightfall but some titans can stay awake a few hours longer into the night than others. The scouts chose to stay at the castle with this in mind. That being said, the kind of titan activity they saw outside the castle that night was literally unheard of for the scouts. Miche, the mustache warrior, is the 2nd best fighter of the whole scout regimen. Technically, 2nd best out of all the soldiers including other regimen. He's a section commander like hange (glasses girl) and he leads the squad that led the recruits at the tower. Miche's squad is basically the best of the best at that point in time, they were the only squad to rival the fallen levi squad. This is why they were able to hold out for as long as they did, given how little room they had to work with. Watching a whole squad of badasses die was horrifying. Let alone seeing them cry for their life. It was a perfect use of their character to build tension. Albeit, sadistic/cruel.

How to Survive in Attack on Titan. Don't be cocky, unless you're Last name ends with Ackerman or Yaeger. Don't get eaten, unless your name is Eren. Gravity don't exist, as long as you didn't take damage before falling. Hell, if you're grabbed, or in someone's mouth, you are safe from fall damage, as long as someone saves you. Don't get hit. Damage seems to equal Death, unless your a pivot part of the story. Be a main character. But not just a main character, an OP Main character. And not just op. You gotta be a special type of main character. Titans are dumb, and attack the closest human in the vicinity, and take their time. So be faster than the person in front of you.

Later in the season reveals why the group who was just chilling there, and in the towers didnt have ODM gear. Bc the scouts had a good theory that Reiner and Berthold were the Collosal and armoured titans. They didnt want to give them ODM gear to give them an advantage if they decide to turn on them. They also didnt know if they had other allies with their group of scouts.

We tried the flaming beacon thing in Denmark some years back. We lit a beacon on the north end of the island of Fyn and had strategic bonfire placed trough the island to it's south end. That's about 100 kilometer and it took roughly 35-45 minutes from the first beacon was lit until the last. So yes, it works very, very well.

I'm really confused why in the aot universe they hadn't solved the communication problem there are multiple solutions like 1) messenger birds 2) a drip system could be plausible water could be faster than a horse 3) a straight pipe and have a cylinder lounch thru it propelled by the gas they use in the 3d maneuver gear like a missile And there's probably better solutions to this problem

@@rok2683 I watch the anime...yes they regenerate but the bombs definitely do F them up! bombs only don't work on hardening and the colossan titan probably the only titan not affected by land mines because it produces heaps of hot steam that would explode the landmines before it even gets near it. Do you know what explosives actually do? lmao ain't regenerating when they get exploded into pieces bruhhh...this ain't dragonball z with majin buu or cell they can't just regenerate when they exploded bruh

@@GrowingDownUnder Yes, admittedly the Titans do get damaged by explosives, but like RoK said, the Titans will still regenerate the exploded limb or area unless of course the explosive was a thunder spear to the nape. Landmines only would affect the lower half of the body and wouldn't kill the Titans. And keep in mind the fact that when the Colossal Titan is using the steam manipulation ability, it cannot move at all while using that, so really unless really close to the landmine, the hidden explosive wouldn't be triggered and wouldn't explode. Besides it's not like they just have the Rod Reiss gunpowder bags worth of landmines in numbers and size to even damage the Colossal, it would pretty much like the Colossal being someone stepping on a firecracker on the 4th of July, wouldn't do much at all.

The regeneration only happens for titans that have the ability to transform at will, those who cannot transform and are stuck that way don't regenerate. And let's just say there isn't many titans that can actually transform at will only the special titans

As at least one other person has mentioned at this point in the story Titans were known to be solar powered. There was absolutely no reason to be worried about the Titans finding our location. That wasn't sloppy, that was just being unaware that the rules had been changed and nobody had told them. While you're correct that Erin wasn't using his best fighting judgement he's literally only needed at all twice. Everything has been "given" to him and his emotions are such a part of his character that him diving into a mad craze when he's fighting the man if not directly to blame for his mother's death, at least pretty far up the food chain on that front was to be expected. The mention of the basement is an interesting note but everybody save MAYBE the vets should have taken cover. Titans up until then don't show any true signs of inteligence with the Shifters being the exceptions. That horde of Titans should have wandered off just fine, they shouldn't even have been gathered actually. They were also doing a terrible job of tearing down that tower so no matter how you slice it the obvious play here was to just wait it out. This would have worked DOUBLy because with glasses girl and others knowing or heavily suspecting that Reigner and Berthold were Titans getting them underground is a wise move. They can't transform underground. Reiner might be an above average fighter but the gathered would have dog pilled him just fine. As for the early warning system you have to remember that there was no need for one. Its easy to forget S1 but the Titans were such a non issue that the guards were drunk on duty and Erin was the only one who gave a crap. When they talk about reclaiming Wall Maria its because they need the land to grow food not because the Titans are some sort of legit threat. That is specifically what made had the scouts out there looking for a breach which didn't exist. Final point of order while you didn't actually mention the reason why the scouts on top of the tower would be unable to see Titans until they were very close is because in a defensive setting you should NEVER face a fire or bright light. It kills your darkvision. However the Titans sneaking up on the scouts is just the same magic zombies have in 90% of media. OR Rexy at the end of Jurassic Park. They get selective ninjutsu powers and or teleporting powers when the plot demands it. While titans are lighter than their size suggests (Though even that comes and goes. Like Collosal Titan shouldn't weigh a whole lot more than a normal one. They have high volume, but low density.) PS: Trusting Ymir at that point should have been a given with no reason to think she'd turn out like Annie. There was no reason for her to reveal her power like that. Its actually kind of odd when you consider her personality. She could easily have cut herself, grabbed Crista and booked it out of there. Best case scenario (for her) everybody in the tower dies and Christa is left as the only witness. Unlike Annie there is NOTHING the current military could have done to Ymir inside the walls. Too fast, too moble.

1. Become a construction worker 2. Build a deep underground bunker 3. Doomsday prep for siege of Titans 4. Use your new outpost position to leverage perks for survival while the scout regiment come to uou to fortify advantages to take the outside world. My chance of survival are dramatically better than the average Titan shifter simply with prep time.

The reason they don't have bells like that is because the Titans had been a complete joke to everybody but the Scouts who volunteered to basically commit suicide. Erin is the only person pissed that the city guards drink on the job. That's how little of a problem the Titans have been prior to what must have been less than a year ago. Modern military training is roughly 3 months for basic and then varies on your speciality. Mine was most of a year but I was a gun mechanic. Trust me working on a gattling gun is more complicated than a car and we all know you don't pick up car mechanic skills over night. Even if their training is longer than ours since 3d movement gear is more complex than walking. I can't imagine its more than six months. There are no specialists, the best get to be spoiled brats on the inner wall (if they want) and the below average are either outerwall gaurds or Scouts. (Except our OOPS all Titans group) Titans literally can barely move at night or so they believed. This is like criticizeing someone who thinks sharks are attacking people and it turns out they are Salt Water Crocodiles. Also Titans are like zombies. They get magic ninja teleport powers when the plot requires it. Otherwise even though they are lighter than they look people would have heard them approaching no problem. I'm curious if someone has made a video for How to Beat but that uses only what information the characters either should have known or could have figured out if you took a deep breath. Like the Squid Games, while the masters would have changed the game midway though it said take off your shoes (for no good reason I might add. It wouldn't significantly affect their weight. Clearly throwing things (like I dunno SHOES) would likely break or at least crack the normal glass

It is fully possible to survive the Rumbling, difficult yes but possible. The thing that would either heighten or lower your survival chances would be your location and amount of time. Using a flying vehicle such as a blimp, or being in an apocalypse bunker deep underground would be your best bet to survive.
